Fitting a Pioneer car play double din unit

Good Morning,

I bought a 2005 SE sport yesterday It has the standard head unit fitted with no phone connection/Bluetooth and also no sat nav/info screen but the door speakers have Harmen Karden on them. I would like to replace the existing head unit with maybe a Pioneer app unit with apple CarPlay but just wondered what conversion kit is required I've had a look on YouTube and look like a simple task to replace but I just don't understand the difference in systems i.e. Harmen Karden, logic 7 etc, any help would be great

you won't have logic 7

but if you move the drivers seat all the way forward, and have a look under the back of it, you will probably find an amop in the floor

(metal fins and row of connectors, lots of green wires on one)

This means you will need a specific kit and someone else can advise

Sat Nav isn't much use.

If no sat nav screen then that is correct kit for HK install

If you want to retain the sub in boot then you will need to connect an another amp from sub out on head unit to the pink leads in the green plug TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

What's the difference between that kit and one for a car with sat nav?

The difference is the screen retention cable which is in this kit

Also means you need to relocate old head unit TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

2 orange is optical network. Is that the car or adaptor end?

Other connector isn't very important.

You normally need to get an ignition supply from the cigar lighter to turn on the new head unit

The plugs you see me holding are the vehicle looms, the plug to the right is the car look to the new adaptor that plug in to the head unit loom, so do I just ignore the 2 other plugs and just take a feed from the cig lighter?

If the rest of the car works without the orange ones looped then that is fine.
Otherwise you will need a loop cable. Thought I saw one in the kit.

Yeah ignore the other plug.

Right the head unit is in and fitted thanks for the advice, the only issue I'm having is with the aerial I have really poor reception I have the Fakra Aerial cable adapter to din radio Fitted and the blue wire connected to the blue and white remote wire on the pioneer head unit but no reception I've tried connecting the blue lead to the 12v cigeretre lighter supply and the radios red and yellow power wires with no success
