2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Alaska White
Gearbox fault.

Hi after some help please. Had an intermittant F fault come up on the dash every now and then when i put my foot down. Ok when turn engine off then on.
Drove fine apart from that. Anyway purchaced iidtool so reset the box to see if would cure the fault. It didnt, it has gone alot worse. Clunks into gears now, not smooth at sll and kinda lunges forward when stopped. Almost as if its dropping into 1st when stopped. Seems better if i manully do gears. Its a 2005 rrs

Many Thanks. Gareth.

Any error codes for the gearbox? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Nothing at all mate. Works perfect if i use manually. Basically not gearing to 1st untill stopped so shunts a bit. Calobrated clutch. Same.

Does sound like oil needs changing... has it ever been changed?

Resetting gearbox, will clear the adaptive settings and there is a possibility of it being worse for a period of time. It will adapt itself again over the next few hundred miles. Bodsys Brake Bible

I had the same problem with my RRS. I took it to have the gearbox oil flushed. It is now a beast and all the clunking and shuddering has gone. I would recommend a gearbox flush by someone who knows what they are doing. Make sure they use the right oil too.
