United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

I used to use my Dad's old 110 just after i passed my test - a Series 2a I seem to recall - about 1955 vintage

S2a would have 109in, a '55 would have been 107in S1 (109in at the end of the S1's life I think). 110 came in with the new-fangled stuff after the S3. A 2-litre diesel S1 would have been 109in but it wouldn't have been in 1955. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Haha. I need to check my facts before pontificating on this forum. Too many geeks! Rolling with laughter

I notice no one picked me up on the maintenance point. That's a fact then!

I'll ask my mum when I see her next week. Not that she'll know - never was interested in cars -but she might surprise me even at 86 years old Smile if she can recall the date that might bring everything into perspective Robin

I must admit I only turned into a series geek after I joined the series2club forum then realised how little I knew Laughing

Is it just me or have we gone Off Topic

12 month update

Can't believe it's been a year since I owned a LR Shocked

Travelled 11500 trouble free miles with costs of 2.5p/mile for electric and 6p/mile for petrol giving total of 8.5p/mile Cool

The OBC shows 87 mpg since I got it which is within about 1 mile of fuelly so pretty accurate Bow down

I don't know what costs were for RRS but the DS worked out at 13.6p/mile meaning I have a saving around £585 on fuel plus free road tax, free parking in York and only £59/m BIK so I've no complaints Thumbs Up

I plan using the PHEV less for longer trips now I have the Lexus so expect petrol use to reduce with more EV use - running costs should drop further over next year Mr. Green

Unfortunately the Lexus road tax was £20 pre April but is now £440 Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Had first service today with no drama Shocked

Left it at dealer who dropped us in Leeds centre for day shopping and lunch then picked us up when finished - no charges as I have 3 years service pack Cool

PHEV washed and batteries recharged ready for trip home too - they even emailed me a video of vehicle check showing brake pads and discs while wheels off - it never fell of ramp either Wink

Swmbo cost me a fortune for lunch and shopping though so I might take them up on collection next time Big Cry

If only I had this level of service from LR I would never have left Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Don't get me started on service levels. When will companies understand that price isn't everything. And with LR (to name but one) they're not even cheap! Worst of both worlds. Robin

I paid £495 for 3 years service pack on Mitsubishi - used to pay that pa on RRS Sad

The video they sent gives name and email address of technician too in case I have any questions Thumbs Up

I'm also pleased to see on my dashcam he did a short road test without the stereo on at all never mind full blast and no hard acceleration/braking or flouting of speed limits Mr. Green

Finally getting the treatment I dreamed of from a brand/dealer Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Sound good Muddy, in fact very good, however I just don't fancy a float, well not yet, and I do agree Land Rover Stealerships are poo. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Had an interesting chat with the car jockey who ran us into Leeds about his dad's £140k Overfinch RRS - it would be funny if it wasn't so bad Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I received an email today from the owner of the Mitsubishi dealership thanking me for my custom and to contact him if I had any problems - even giving me his mobile number Shocked

Swmbo said I should reply which I thought was OTT but did it for some peace - he replied personally at 7.50pm -

Quote:
Thanks very much indeed for your feedback, which is very valuable to me in so many ways. I will certainly share your comments with everyone, as both people involved deserve the recognition, and also to demonstrate to everyone how important simple great service and respect can be.

Many thanks for letting me know, and choosing to use our dealership.

Since I almost dropped a deposit on a Velar and expressed interest in a new SC, the stealer won’t leave me alone Laughing Current offer is 10% off an SC.

Thread Drift below

I have done 500 miles of fast lead footed country driving, sometimes red lining my old V8 this weekend, lost track of how much fuel I have used Muddy, 2 years worth on the PHEV probably... Rolling with laughter

Rock steady at 100 mph on long straight deserted country roads, a joy to be in. It’s good to be back in an RRS after 6 years with the Germans. It was a winery trip with SWMBO who has had a rough trot with some big surgery back in June. She thinks there is no finer long distance cruising all round fast car and I think she is right. But an SC would mean me going down to 1 car and I have been used to 2.
