Collection date confirmed

Ok so I now have a collection date confirmed for Friday 8th September Very Happy and also as the dealer communication has been pss poor I complained and got some extras for free that they wouldn't do when ordering so happy days

Been waiting for so long now and have been reading all the topics posted on here.

So far I have booked the car in for a full new car detailing and ceramic coating for the 13th

Next job is to start the insurance search so bashing the phones and websites tomorrow

Anyone got any tips/advice on what to check or be careful about on collection from the dealers?

Make sure the spec matches what you ordered as they often mess it up!

Do not let them wash it if you are taking it for a full detail.

Enjoy it. MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

As Dave says make sure the dealer doesn't touch the paint work & tell the dealer you want it as it comes off the transporter,,if the dealer goes near it with their wash method it will make more work for the detailed to get rid of swirls etc.

Well, it will come off the transporter covered in transit wax and paper /polythene protective sheets.

It is a part of the PDI to take all that off and inspect the paintwork. Would you want to accept a car so smothered in wax that you cannot see if the paintwork is acceptable or not? MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Unfortunately you should let them at least prepare car PDI so you can check on damage, mispray, bad paintwork and general scratches in bumpers and don't forget Roof and roof glass.
Tell dealer of your concerns of quality of washing and prep and anything wrong will be rejected! John

Probably more any polishing that needs omitting, I imagine they could get the car visually clean with a steam wash once they've removed all the protection.

Surely a detailer wouldn't apply a ceramic coating without giving a car at least a light polish first - they'd need to know any contaminants really were removed, even on a brand new car? 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Seeing as where your location is if it's from the local dealer then I'd rather prick my eyes out with rusty needles than have them touch the car!
