The dealer seems to have been first class and could have done no more, it's more the manufacture that seems at fault.

hi
really depends on where the damage occured
Was it at the dealership and they just hoped l would not notice or just accept it?
OR
Was it sent to the dealership by JLR?

I was referring more to their 'no quibble' resolution of your complaint, rather than the actual defects. Personally, if I were sticking with JLR, I'd stick with the same dealer.

you must be joking
They must have known the car was damaged on the pre delivery inspection but declined to mention
no way would l use them
rather take my chances elsewhere
But next time l will do a thorough inspection before accepting the car

But you took some time to notice, maybe they also did.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I think if you read the early posts this SVR was delivered direct to the OP at Solihull and not via dealership, he paid the additional to take delivery at the factory. That means either the QC at the end of the line found damage and sent it back to be "repaired" or the spray process was originally defective in the factory (in which case there will be lots of cars with the same issue?). The vehicle was never put on a transporter unless it was shipped to the Gaydon holding area and then back to Solihull. PDI etc was done at the factory handover facility 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

So what has the dealer done wrong? They seem to have done everything possible to offer replacement and then recompense.

Right with Nods car i don't think there is a problem with the dealer it was ordered at as it was even a factory collection.
denny on the other hand is not happy with his dealership as they might have known of the damage and neglected to inform him. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

TDV8HST
Absolutly correct they must have noticed it but were deceitful in not informing me hoping to get away with it

donny dog
What did the dealer do wrong answer as above
They did not recompense me they just put me back to last August the date of my original order
All they have done is repaid my purchase price nothing for my out of pocket expenses or the time lost
and now without a car just the use of my wifesfor now.
Queston to you donny dog are you a dealership or employee of one?
as l can see were your favour is

No, not an employee! Laughing The problem is there seem to be two cars under discussion in this thread and I may have confused them, so I owe you an apology if I was referring to the wrong case .

Hi to one and all
Just got back from a trip and thought I would give you a brief synopsis of the last months ongoing situation with my car.
My car eventually got to Scottish dealership after having a stoop over on the A74 overnight !!!!
The garage seemed to indicate that they could not see any damage and wanted my Detailer’s written report as they said the many photographs were purely based on interpretation 😟
Eventually JLR sent one of their own Specialists to examine the car and he agreed immediately that the car had sustained damage to the tailgate and was covered up !!! He was also very vocal about it being taken to Scotland..
Subsequently, they wanted to get it repaired and sent back to me… Yeah right !!!!
I then received a call from MD of Dealership who was extremely apologetic. Evidentally, JLR had passed the buck back to the dealership to deal with as the contract was between me and them, even though the car never reached them and the damage was done by JLR.
To make matters worse the car had to be repaired, so that the dealership could asses its current value to then claim the shortfall from JLR.
JLR say they are going to get back to me this week regarding the lead time for a new SVR to my spec.
Finally, still no results on my original questions regarding how the damage occurred or how the pre-hand over mileage occurred….
There is a lot more I could say about what has happened, but feel it is not appropriate at this moment, if you all get my drift !
Will give you an update once I know what is happening.
All of you guys receiving you shiny new SVR’s or Sport’s please check them carefully.
So the plot continues

Good luck Nod i hope its sorted for you soon.
Did not know it had some delivery miles on it,probably due to this it was damaged.

I think a new18mdl SVR with some discount should be the right result. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

I hope it is too. The guys from the dealership are being brilliant. They are even suggesting a 2018 my with discount. But we will just have to wait and see. I don't trust JLR one iota, especially after my dealings with them. However, I will keep an open mind to see if they stick to their promise.

Mileage was 60 miles when I picked it up, which seems a helming of a lot !!! RRS SVR 2018

Thanks for your comments and best wishes.

What is really sticking in my throat, is all the lies they have been telling me and having the arrogance to think I will swallow them !!! RRS SVR 2018
