Portugal 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue
MAJOR SERVICE. What to replace?

Hi. Before taking my RRS 2005 HSE 2.7 Tdv6 auto' to Portugal for good early next year I want to make sure it gets a really thorough service & overhaul.

While I wouldn't go so far as to say money is no object I am prepared to fork out for a really good job. I've contacted a couple of people through the RRS Forum and I'm going to meet a pro' inde' LR specialist local to me in the next couple of weeks after which I'll decide where to get it done.

The car has just gone over 100,000km and is really good condition. It's not let me down in any way since I bought it in May this year. I had it remapped at a qualified Quantum specialist.

What I'd really appreciate from you guys is a list of what else you think I should have done taking everything in to account. I've already listed: Battery, timing belt, all fluids, brakes all round, new turbo hoses (quite a bit of black smoke comes out when foot hard down), software update (probably Geoff via Bodsie)... so anything else you experienced LR RRS people think I should have done would be appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation. Cool Cairns Blue Barrie.

If the belts are being done, get the oil pump done too Thumbs Up

Take the Quantum map off, and have it redone by a specialist tuner Thumbs Up

Gearbox oil + filter, and rest of the driveline oils

Consider having the brake flexi pipes replaced, if they are the originals. They should have been replaced at 6 years...

If it's havin new brakes all round, consider fitting the V8 upgraded parts (or Brembos, if the budget allows Wink )

Thanks Disco_Mikey. Would certainly consider Brembos subject to budget. Any idea as to approximately how much the complete set would cost? (I can find the stockists but not the prices). Barrie.

New calipers would be rather expensive, but 2nd hand bargains can be had Thumbs Up

I paid just £200 for my last set Wink
