SVR Returned to JLR after less than a month

Hi to one and all
I just thought I would impart the recent events I have had with JLR over my SVR…

Whilst having it detailed, many areas were found to have a lot of over spray. To be fair my detailer said this was usually the case with most new cars he had detailed, even those with bespoke paintwork !
Whilst I was prepared to accept this and leave it to be rectified a more severe problem arose.
Damage was identified on the Tailgate and evidence of masking and respray having taken place, additionally, the spoiler was mis aligned and wires were hanging down from the inner side of the spoiler.
There were also many other issues that appeared and when examined further uneven gaps appeared between trim, bumper and bodywork………
I decided to forward a complaint with documentary evidence to JLR Executive Office, and ask how my vehicle had received damage at the factory…. They denied this vehemently with denial !!
After what can only be classed as BS they eventually agreed to take the car back and have it examined by one of their specialists, as they admitted that it had suffered some scratches and required repair !!!!!! Unbelievable !

To my amazement, I heard Friday that my car was going to be transported to a Dealership in South Lanarkshire, Scotland for review, examination and proposed repair and respray…………. There is also supposed to be a specialist from JLR going to see it from Solihull.

At no time have they confirmed what has happened to my car.

I have told them that I do not want a respray on a car that is brand new….

My questions are still:

How did the damage occur
Why are they now saying they are going to respray it at a dealership in Scotland and it appears I have no say in the matter !

Your comments would really be appreciated, as I now feel totally despondent and feel as though I am getting nowhere😩

Cheers

Guessing - Perhaps, (some how and strangely) the transporter/dealer's HQ is in Scotland and 'they' caused the damage and has been instructed to rectify !

That's astounding, given the cost of these cars, I'd seriously consider taking good legal advice with a view to requesting a replacement car. Also, I can't understand why JLR are sending the car to Scotland to be inspected, when SVO, the specialist division linked to SVR vehicles, are HQ'd in the Midlands, in Ryton on Dunsmore which also has its own paint shop for bespoke colour applications

I collected the car directly from Solihull, so as to avoid any transport damage !

That is why I am so puzzled

The reason I was given was that this dealership were specialists in paintwork and SVR's

Also car was picked up yesterday from London and took 26 hours to get there, even though I was told it would be there last night.

Oh and also my theft warning kept on going off !!! RRS SVR 2018

Hi Geoffsnook and Godiva (good name) mine too!

I had a chat with my Solicitor today and she will look at he case...

I have tole them that no work is to be carried out unless I agree.... Also said I would go up there with my detailer and have it out with them...

What I don't get is why is a dealer dealing with a JLR problem RRS SVR 2018

If you've spoken to a solicitor already, be guided by her. Tell JLR to NOT do anything yet as you are seeking legal advice, then wait before bolting up to Scotland until your solicitor has come back to you with her advice.
If you do anything further before your solicitor has responded, it may jeopardize any case she may be able to build for you.

She may advise you that legally, JLR must be given an opportunity to put things right but if they don't and the car isn't corrected to an expected standard as if it had just rolled off production in perfect condition, then matters can be taken further.
I'm no lawyer though, so be guided by her. I'm just guessing what she might tell you.

Good advice Nige
I am just so angry at the moment with all the lies I have been told.

The poor guy in the Exec Office is trying his best to help but I don't think he can recognise the BS being given to him !!
