Adrian,

Fuses Located in Engine Bay Fuse Box, they are in a bank of six fuse located to the rear and slightly left, sort of pink square 30amp rated fuse position 2 is right hand side and six is left hand side.

Have emailed wiring diagram and Service Action Bulletin. the torx screws do have locking compound on them but shouldn't be that tight as only retain a bit of trim. Laughing

Cheers
Col

Cheers for that Col, I've just replied to you by email.

For others benefit, this is what I said "I did some investigation last night and it looks like one of the 2 30amp fuses has blown. It's difficult to be sure, cos I cant get the bl00dy thing out!

It's one of the J Case fuses mentioned in that .pdf, about 10mm square box with "30" on the top. One of them has nice shiny metalwork inside, the other looks like dull and broken metal.

Silly question, how do you remove/replace that type of fuse? I grabbed at it with long nose pliers and pulled, but no luck." Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

Pillars should remove. Maybe it got hot.

The top windows do pop off though. For inspection

The fuses are very stiff, but you can also pop the top off and check for continuity from one half to the other. MY12 RRS HSE

Just pulled it out with a bit of a pull and wiggle.

Definitely blown. Off to Halfords later to get a new one (doesn't seem to be any spares in the fusebox). Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

I'd get the side trim off before you replace the fuse and disconnect the windscreen if easy.

Don't want to just blow another fuse straight away at halfords prices!

or at least if the screen is disconnected and it blows, it will give some clues

Halfords only stock the full size ones, not the low profile ones. I've ordered a couple from Rimmer's.

I suppose I could swap the l and r fuses just to see. Merc C220 estate Sport AMG
