Code 0406 Exhaust Gas Re circulation Sensor A circuit high

Car has engine management light on and checked the code which is 0406 Exhaust Gas Re circulation Sensor A Circuit high. Also is the A circuit driver or passengers side.
Car is a Sport 2.7 TDV 6 08 plate and is still running ok
Was wondering if any one has removed the EGR before and cleaned up the valve.
I suspect that due to it the circuit being high that the internals are clogged up causes more amps to be used to operate the EGR correctly.
Could any one advise on any cleaner if the cleaning process is viable.

Thanks Ray

If the EGRS are removed and blanked does the EMU need remapping to remove the warning light.
Also will removal not cause problems with emission test during MOT

Yes, the PCM needs a software patch, but easily overcome Thumbs Up

EGR is currently not tested for MOT purposes, so no issues come MOT time Thumbs Up

@rayb22 if you remove it and stick it in the sink with a spot of fairy liquid, should be right as rain!

All the best friend,
