The bottom one is for the heated steering wheel, the top one is 'Cancel', which cancels speed limiter settings (Aotomatic, Intelligent, Cruise, etc. dependant on spec.)

Ah, thanks Donny!

Don't think heated steering wheel is required in ZA, it was 38C last week, and in winter it's barely 4C Whistle --

Was the car imported from a cold country, or was it standard fit on that model?

no, it wasn't standard, the original owner probably specced it like that.

In fact, I only asked the question because on every other RRS I'm looking at, there is a blank in that space, so clearly Land Rover South Africa did not think that heated steering wheel was required here Rolling with laughter --

Having had a long chat with the local dealer's sales people, it looks like the better choice in the range is the SCV8, as the SCV6's consumption is worse than the SCV8.

So the SCV6 is off the table, and the search resumes for an SCV8, or if the price is right, the SDV8, as the dealer says there are very few issues on these as well. --

The SCV8 is a hoot! Very Happy
Goes like a scalded cat when required, or pootles along with the traffic.
On reasonably long journeys (mixed of single and dual carriageways) I get 22mpg Thumbs Up

Other reason to go for the SCv8 is that in the UK at least, the SCv6 doesn't get Dynamic mode which makes a big difference to the high speed handling and in the UK also gets you the e-Diff. I would imaging that 99% of Dynamic equipped RRS2's will never need the e-diff but I use mine offroad and it means that for most of my off-roading I don't need to change from my 22" wheels with road biased tyres onto my 20" AT's - OK so I haven't tried deep mud yet in the RRS or Rock Crawling but everything else I have kept going when others in ATR shod Defenders have ground to a halt. It is amazing how much it locks and unlocks too, even on heathland and wet grass you can see it partly engaging - it does it 33% closed, then 66% then completely locked too it isn't just fully open or fully closed. The S/Cv8 gets dynamic and the e-diff in the UK 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

thanks for the feedback Perce Thumbs Up

thanks Tim, that is also what I am seeing here: none of the SCV6 I have looked at have the e-diff, which I definitely want for off-roading purposes.

I am also looking at an SDV8 with around 70,000km on the clock, but my first choice would definitely be the SCV8 Mr. Green --

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

The seller doesn't seem to list much gear with it, V8S/C in UK is only available with Autobiography trim, I cannot read what the badge on the tailgate reads - in the UK the HSE (non-dynamic) has a similar badge to the Autobiograpghy but the Dynamic HSE only has the SPORT badging in red. Corris is a great colour too Whistle I'm not a fan of those wheels but they are what it comes with in the UK too, mine has 22" 10 spokes which are nice and easy to clean after off roading in mud....... Is the tow hook the deployable one or the removable one or fixed?
After a day out in the "outback" of Argyll last weekend. In dry conditions the rear seems to attract dust as badly as it attracts dirt in the wet, even at offroad speeds so check if that one has the additional/ englarged screen washer bottle - mine dosn't although the standard one coped OK with only a day in these conditions if you are going into dusty conditions for much longer you would soon empty the standard water reservoir in the front wing..

I also have a set of 21" wheels that have a lot more sidewall and unlike the 22" the tyres are Mud and snow rated, the 22's are Summers (I have not yet got stuck offroad on the 22's, but when driving in ruts the low sidewalls do worry me a bit). The eDiff does work a lot offroad when running on the 22's Mr. Green

thanks for the advice, Tim, appreciate that!

the one I'm looking at is HSE trim, and all of the South African V8s (petrol & diesel) have Dynamic. I also checked on Topix to make sure. All ZA-spec vehicles also have the deployable tow bar.

As far as wheels, this one has 21" rims, but I actually want 20" rims for off-roading, and most dealers have said that's not an issue. They'll just swap the wheels with another customer who wants 21" wheels.

As for being used to dust, well, I drive a Defender Puma, so you can imagine that dust doesn't bother me the least bit Rolling with laughter --
