South Africa 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Siberian Silver

thanks Donny, your feedback is very useful.

I'm a bit more concerned about the reliability and longevity of the SDV8 engine, as I'm looking at this vehicle right now: 2014 model with 81,000 km. For the next 2 years it's worry-free as it will still be under Land Rover Care Plan until September 2019, but after that...

I don't want to end up with a vehicle that starts eating money if/when things go wrong after I start putting lots of mileage on it Confused

It looks nice in the photo, I like the colour!

Obviously I can't offer you any personal experience on longevity (after two weeks!), but the same engine is fitted in loads of Range Rovers (FFRR) so check their forums and see if anyone reports problems.

yep, thanks Donny Thumbs Up

I take it the SDV8 doesn't eat cranks like the SDV6 does?

Don't follow the bit about cranks. Is the SDV6 renowned for crank shaft problems? Maybe the SDV8 would be better balanced?

yep, the T/SDV6 is renowned for breaking their cranks - happens at any mileage and without any prior indication of any issues. Plenty of reports on the D3, D4, RRS, and even on brand new RRS L494s as well.
