United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey
That was lucky!

Cutting back some errant bamboo behind one of our sheds, a thin bit that I hadn't seen poked me in my left eye. Eye sight went blurry instantly and my eye felt odd but no pain. Quickly looked in the bathroom mirror and found my contact lens had been folded over. A new lens and all good.

Looks like the contact lens saved my cornea! Phew!

I was clearing the bamboo having refelted the shed which was stripped by Storm Doris. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Very lucky

I was using a strimmer doing the lawn edges some years ago and a stone whipped up in to my eye

The impact pain was excruciating and only got worse, down to A&E and it had missed my pupil by a mm and scratched my eye ball, luckily a patch and some drops sorted it

Were safety specs all the time when doing things, though last year I got a splash of dirty muddy water in a eye and that felt awful and needed bathing for ages to clean it

When using the strimmer/brush cutter or chain saw, I use a mesh screen /ear defender combo thingy. When just wielding a pair of secetaurs I've never considered it a problem. Scary how vulnerable we can be at times. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
