Very very Quick Defender

Spotted this at Urban Automotive when I had some stuff put on my RRS. It's been sold now to a manager of an F1 driver who flew in from Switzerland, looked at it, bought it and flew back home Shocked How the other half live eh Question Whistle

I really don't understand why people do that to Defenders. Take a Defender - the archetype of a rattly, unpleasant, uncomfortable 4x4 - basically designed as a tractor and try to make it a fast road car.

I'm sure it sounds great and is silly fun for five minutes but... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

£115k for a modded Defender like the one above: http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/twisted-land-rover-defender

That's more than a RRS SVR which is better in every regard!

Bizarre. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Looking at that, it's very much the same as the one I saw. Push buttons for the gears as well. Could possibly have been the same spec as well but just the colour different.
And I agree with you saying the SVR is better in every way, but I would though wouldn't I Whistle Thumbs Up

The thing is SVR's are relatively common, Corvette powered Defenders might be awful on the road (although I'm sure that Urban will have well sorted the handling) are all but unique. If you have to get rid of money what better way to do it, and I bet it never sees a gorse bush or a muddy / gravelly lane, imagine charging down the Autobahn in your X6M thinking you are the coolest thing on 4 wheels and a Defender looms close behind in your RVR urging you to pull over to let him pass............... I know which I would rather have despite its discomforts and short comings! Mr. Green 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

Ah but Tim, you choose to drive an ordinary Defender so you're not the best placed person to comment - you're obviously mad! Whistle

Looks positively sensible compared to the Patrol on the last episode of Grand Tour Laughing

Would be interested to know what axles and transmission they have hooked up to that LS, standard defender stuff would explode at the first set of traffic lights.
