Belgium 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Ipanema Sand

Hi Muddy,

So I had a look around this morning and those winter tyres set is really something being sold by Mitsubishi - the nearest Mitsubishi garage to me (in Belgium) also sells the same sets for roughly the same price including mounting and balancing - unfortunately again no shipping.

I also looked at non-genuine winter tyres sets and there are some available, but none of them ship from Belgium or the Netherlands. I then had a look in Germany and I could find a company (Reifentiefpreis24) that sells none-genuine rims and winter tyres and seem to ship to the UK on request.

Thanks Luckske - I really appreciate you spending time on this especially as it's not even related to the forum Bow down

For insurance I need genuine or it becomes complicated Sad

I will contact Mitsubishi UK and see what they have to say - hopefully it can be sorted Thumbs Up

Looking at UK alloys for £2764 without tyres it would be cheaper to go on ferry and collect some with tyres at these prices Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Hi Andy

I nearly came to see you yesterday but thought you might be busy - I would of brought coffee though if it helped Wink

I always buy premium brands as I believe they are the best - cheaper tyres have a reputation for being less predictable especially in the wet and emergency Question

My prefered option was to fit all seasons on existing alloys but 225/55R18 98H is proving a difficult size - the Eagle LS2 we discussed are only 97 so after some research I think it's best to avoid for insurance, etc - this only leaves the Quatrac 5 which are poor in Wet apparently which fits my understanding of cheaper brands Confused

Reading the handbook Mitsubishi recommended winter tyres and sell sets in 215/70R16 and 225/55R18 with Hankooks but again some negative reviews in wet and not sold in UK Shocked

I've scoured the web for genuine 16" (my preference for winter) or 18" alloys and nothing available in UK apart from ridiculous dealer set for £2764 without tyres Big Cry

Looking like I may end up fitting 18" winter on existing alloys but will have to swap tyres twice a year which costs and risk of damage to diamond cut alloys unless I use a very careful fitter who also prides his vehicles Whistle Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

have you checked with Costco, they had some Mitchlin on display that were for normal roads, but coped with harsher conditions such as rain/snow, can't remember what they were called

I don't need an all terrain vehicle to drive on icy roads and snow or the running costs SRE Whistle

Still fancy a series 2 which could be my winter vehicle but I would rather keep it for summer fun Embarassed

Owners in Scandinavian areas speak well of phev on right tyres Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Milko AKA Milk Float Man Historic name Muddy.

I was also tempted with going down the Defender route for use in Spain, However, I am not from Yorkshire, (a Chester born boy) so MPG was not a Priority Whistle Whistle

The vehicle I was tempted with was LHD yellow NAS 90. V8 of course Bow down Bow down Thumbs Up In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

A petrol Series 2/2a I want will do about 15-20mpg and max 40 mph but I just love them - not interested in a diesel Mr. Green

A V8 Defner would be very nice but for me it's got to be a S2 Bow down

The S3 is tempting but too much plastic - bit like some female celebs Laughing Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Good luck with the search Muddy, I looked at the USA, as I wanted a rust free LHD, but too many issues of getting a NAS (North American Spec) car legal in Spain, I even considered registration in the UK and then running one on UK plates in Spain. This is OK for short term, but issues like MOT become a pain in the buttocks with having to Drive back to the UK every 12 months
However went down the Disco and RR and RR Sport route instead.

Anyway, back to P taking with your Milk float thing Mr. Green far more fun the talking about JLR. Ner Ner In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
