Nope, they are still of a crap standard.

Mine were replaced 10 months ago for the second time in 2 years and the new ones are flaking already.......

Wales 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra Black

I haven't got the special brakes on my 2012 RRS HSE with 3 extras packs etc, but I have had to have the calipers changed as after 7 months (7500 miles) they had very bad paint peel and rust was also starting to show. Big Cry They have a grey type finish and dealer replaced them, and kept originals, but has said I must be careful when cleaning, no car washes (I don't) no pressure washer when cleaning or any cleaning solutions as these can all be responsible for this problem. I did explain I don't do any of those things and it was indicated I was mistaken, don't like being called a liar indirectly. If it happens again, they would be sent to LR for decision as too whether to replace them under warranty or just repaint them Big Cry I still have two years full LR warranty on car, but now they seem to be finding excuses for the problem, I thought I was the only one that had this problem with feedback from my LR Service/Dealers. Now reading this I'm not happy at all, no I haven't paid extra for the brakes, but they looked disgusting quite quickly, not something you expect when paying near £68,000 (at the time) for a used car. Incidently this was the last year of this model before changing. John

Looks like a change of paint on MY16 pre delivery today

As above, popped into dealer to see car pre delivery prep. Looks like the same paint on rears now as front.

Yup. From around October 2015, the finish is the same on front and back.

My 16MY came with dodgy rear callipers which got swapped to the new spec under warranty.

My 16.5MY came with the new spec from the factory.

My rear callipers are being replaced under warranty. Let's see how long the paint on the new ones lasts. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Insist you get powder coated rather than painted. They changed this but there's still some old stock floating around.

Old thread but my MY2014 5.0 SC ATB has the same issue with flaking red rear caliper paint.

Is there a service action / TSB number I can reference when addressing this issue with my LR service dept contact?

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red

Ive recently bought a July 2014 l494 HSE dynamic from my local dealer Hunters of norwich, it has the two years of extended warranty with it. The calipers are red the front red Brembo brakes are beautiful the backs are ok but showing signs of pealing paint like all the previous posts.

Would this be something I could claim under the two year warranty ? If not going to paint them with smooth hammerite red paint and do the hubs with smooth silver hammerite too.

Any help would be appreciated though Thumbs Up

If I can get new ones that would be a bonus.

Thanks

Tom.

I have had claims turned straight down, my dealer wanted to do it but LR were having none of it and wouldn't give the go ahead!

At least that's what they told me?

Good luck and hopefully you have better luck getting it through. MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver

Hi Canary.

Yea hopefully i have luck with this but not got my hopes up !! The quality of the red painted rear calipers are poor i must say !! If only they were the quality of the front Red Brembo Brakes.

I'm sure they are not even etched just landrover slaps a quick coat of red on them !!!

Will keep you posted tomorrow as i am going to ring my dealer !!

Tom.

Just as a suggestion, but for those who haven't got warranty or if you guys are willling to pay, and able to remove them yourself, then these guys can't be beat.

Hi guys.

Spoke to my dealer yesterday about the rear calipers with the paint slightly coming off them, but they are saying they are not covered under the warranty ? Only when it is a few months old apparently they will change them if this happens !

My sport is July 14 plate so yes over 3 years old but only with just over 20,000 miles but it still has the extra 2 years approved warranty which is why I went to landrover in the first place so it's still under their warranty ! Surely ?

Let me know your thoughts guys ! Just wondering if anybody else has had these changed on the approved 2 year warranty with a vehicle just over 3 years old.

If I have no luck I will just remove them my self and do a proper paint job on them anyway Mr. Green

Thanks Thumbs Up

Tom.

No pictures I'm afraid but as mine was in for another warranty problem (creaking / movement in front control arm / suspension)... I have asked them to get JLR to see if they would replace. 30k, 2016 RRS AB 4.4 and in some parts they were down to silver metal underneath, fronts look brand new....

I have also got them doing the fuel tank slosh mod and I have a loose heat shield under the car which is rattling at idle making it sound like a bag of nails....!!

Will let you know if I get them replaced but service guy said 'yes, a lot do get replaced'..... 2016 RRS Autobiography - 4.4 TDV8 - Santorini Black with Ivory Leather - Grey Alloys - A few toys
