Chris,

I have a Loire Blue HSE very like your old car. I would be very interested in your comments on your new purchase and any comparative information. I am trying to decide if it is worth the money to get a newer model. Regards

Malcolm

Bitten the bullet - and it's at the Dealers - photo proof!

Hi,

As promised, the Dealer dragged the new RRS in from the rain for us to have a look at her, take photo's and close the deal.

VERY happy with final deal - but no discount off the car itself!

All "bits" mustered and correct - nothing missing - everything "as requested".

Roll on 1st March !!

Hi,

We thought we'd ordered "Aruba Silver" but in TopiX it comes out a "Ingot Gold / Aruba Gold".( Sorry - got mixed up with Indus silver Embarassed )

Not really bothered what it's called - we love the colour!!!

Strange thing is that in this colour with a black roof and privacy glass the car looks longer and lower than the all black one that was in the showroom - optical illusions!!!

I would love to know how LR thinks up the colour names............. having spent many hours on ships going up and down parts of the River Indus it is neither gold nor metallic in colour................ milky coffee brown or dull grey with dead cows and goats in it, the odd human remain and a gawd awful stench most of the time too. I've been to Aruba too................ it isn't silver or gold either, but very pretty all the same and much nicer than the Indus! I suggest you call it Aruba Gold rather than Indus! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think this colour is the very best to show off the new RRS. Well, I would, its the same as mine, although I have the Ebony/Ivory interior.

Just for info, on Topix mine is listed as INGOT GOLD/ARUBA GOLD. It is also known as Aruba Silver - just wait till you see it in bright sunshine!

Good luck with your new car. If you are only half as happy with yours as I am with mine, you will still be thrilled.

H.

Hi,

Phase 1 complete! My 13.5MY HSE Black has been signed over to the dealer this morning. We're really going to miss her as she's been brilliant over the last 3yr & 36000 miles.

We didn't want to risk driving in on Tuesday in an un-MOT'd, un-taxed ( and probably technically un-insured) car to get the new one so we've got the Dealers 16MY RRS2 A/B demonstrator till 0900 on Tuesday.

It's going to be a long wait!!!!

Gives me chance to play with all the toys before I get mine !!!!

Off Topic Tim, Indus varies a lot. You've probably only seen the parts where it meets or is close to the sea, by which time it has collected all sorts of pollutions over its ~2000 mile length. Next time try going further up and you may find parts that inspired LR to name their colour after it. The waters in the pictures below aren't exactly silver but are just meant to underscore my point about variation:

Hi,

So....the HSE Black will be three years old on 1/3/16 therefore it's time to start looking for the replacement. After some serious research and pondering the "loaded HSE" v "AB" conundrum, today I fell into the trap of visiting our local Stealers to pick-up SWMBO from having her D4 HSE serviced...and it looks like the decision has been made!!!

Order now locked on:-

16MY (maybe 16.5MY) 3.0 SDV6 AB
Kaikoura Stone (now Aruba Silver)
Ebony/Ebony
21" Style 505's (now 21" 507's - not Diamond Turned)
Adaptive bi-Xenons
Fixed pano with blind
Santorini roof
Large washer bottle
2nd sun visor
Full size spare
Remote park heat
Solar attenuating windscreen
Privacy glass
HUD
Lane departure/ road sign recognition
Dimming mirrors
Load rail system
Surround cameras

Service pack
W & T insurance

Just waiting to get the call to get a Jan16 build slot for Feb delivery to Stealer and 1/3/16 on the road.

Your thoughts?

Lovely colour Scrumps, bet you're just jumping up and down for the 1st eh!

Out of interest, noticed the gear stick. Not looked in any recent models myself, so they did away with the turn dial changer then? 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory

Hi Chris,

The "gear knob" came in to RRS1 with the 8-speed box.

L494 (RRS2) has gone back to a stick.

We've currently got the Dealers demo and it's quite strange. SWMBO and I have been used to jumping between her D4 and my RRS 1 without a thought- the RRS2 is totally different.!

Can't wait for Tuesday. Spec'd the car last June, paid the deposit in Sept to get an allocation and (so far) the Dealer has hit every date.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
