Knocking no more .......

At last, my knocking has ceased Razz After several abortive attempts to locate the source of the annoying knocking sound / sensation from the front of the RRS when driving on uneven road surfaces, my dealer has finally found the cause. It was a defective bush on the anti roll bar. The technician was delighted to have found that, in fact so delighted he rang me personally and I could "hear" the grin on his face. This was after several goes at replacing steering components, ball joints, wheel balancing etc (all of which achieved nowt).

So if anyone else out there is still struggling to locate the cause of the mild knocking from the front end when driving accross uneven road surfaces, which I could both hear and vaguely feel through the bulkhead, then advise your dealer to check out the "D" bush on the anti roll bar. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Smarticus, you don't know how good that sounds..

... but it's come a week late! they've taken my car back to the factory and say it'll be 3-4 weeks before I can have it back, and this is just to solve the bloody knocking from the front suspension!!

The problem now is that the car has gone and I have no way to make any contact with them, so unless I can get hold of the chap looking at it I dunno what they'll do!

At least they've given me a replacement car (pre-launch 54-plate odd spec TDV6 in silver with beige seats, yuck!!)

Copy of PM just sent to Steve, in case anyone else needs the same info :

Hi Steve

My dealer is Lloyd Land Rover in Carlisle. Their telephone number is 01228 599000. I cannot remember the technician's name, but they will have a record of the work they did on my car under my name. They are very helpful at Lloyds and I am sure they will try to help you if they can. The technician said he was going to notify Landrover of the solution to my problem - I think he said he was going to send in a EQR or something sounding like that, which should register on Landrover's central records that this issue has been found and now cured. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Strangly enough i had exactly the same probelm with the X5, went thro the Ball joint , track rod ends, support arms suspension etc etc, cost me over 2k and in the end it was as you said a bush on the lower anti-roll bar. 03 X5 3.0 Sport
