Ceramic wheel selant

I have been looking into sealing my alloys if nothing else to make it easier to maintain.

I was wondering if any one has first had experience with any ceramic coatings, such as kkd or gtechniq c5.

Needed ideally to find out

How much would I need to do the "face" of 4 20" wheels.
Can i drive on them prior to the normally 12 hour curing time.

Many thanks in advance. Thumbs Up

I used the gtecnique c5 about a month ago on my winter wheels came from the well known auction site included 2 microfibres clothes and some ipa to prepare the wheel inc free delivery, bought 2 15 ml bottles as wasn't sure how much I'd need but only used 1 so I'll use the other on the summer wheels.

Washed twice since use and most of grime just hoses off, they seem to repel the dirt much better too, definitely worth doing

jags did you have to let it cure before you drove on them?

I have all the needed ocd prep products (ipa, clay bar, microfibre clothes) and a local detail product supplier which I use just needed amount needed and if anything other than c5 that people recommend instead.

tyrefitter I have used poorboys in the past impressive sealant also recommend fk1000p, but I am now at a stage where I need something more durable anything to cut wash times down on her.

Crystal Serum on the wheels and 6 months worth of road grime came off easily with soap and water ....
and the finish beneath all that brake dust was.... perfect !!!!

I used c5, bought a 30ml bottle, applied to all 5 wheels twice and I had 1/4 left. left overnight to cure.

I've recently coated a new set of 21s with Gyeon Q2 Rim. I used a third of a bottle to coat the face and inside of 4 alloys once. Wheels haven't been mounted yet though so I can't personally say how good/long it lasts.

I decided on Gyeon as I couldn't find any evidence it's worse than Gtechniq but it's about half the price. I think they are a fairly new brand but easy to find videos and reviews online.

Technically you could drive on it sooner but you risk the coating not setting fully which would reduce the longevity. Personally I'd leave it for 12-24 hours if you can

I've used poor boys previously but don't think it lasts any longer than a decent wax. I'd go ceramic based every time now 2010 RRS 3.0 TDV6 - Bali Blue / Ivory Leather / Extended Leather / TV / Rear Entertainment / Privacy Glass / Timed Climate
