NEW General Grabber GT.

NEW General Grabber GT.

New General Grabber GT soon to be available in 255/50x19, 275/40x20 and 275/45x20, no prices as yet but will be very keen.

The NEW General GT will be taking over from the older UHP from General which I know many RRS use and like.

Hope these will be of help to you all.

Will add more as and when I have more info. Please call us 01737 241370 for the quickest response Smile

They look to be a pure summer tyre. I haven't been able to determine whether they are M&S marked (they have a reasonably open tread pattern but not much different to Conti UHP etc. which are summer tyres). They're definitely not a winter tyre - General have the "Snow Grabber" for that role. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

The UHP's were a soft compound mind you. (These are marketed as the UHP's replacement)

So much better in the colder months than say the Toyos.

I had UHP's on my D3 in the snow and wow they were faultless.. RRS gone

Yes. Shame about the UHP's being discontinued. So many very positive opinions on them on various forums regarding wet/dry handling, treadwear and quite decent performance in snow (albeit not to the level of a dedicated winter tyre).
I was looking forward to possibly getting a set of those in 275/45 20 when the continentals that I got with the RRS are done (wanted to try the slightly higher aspect ratio).
Now they are being replaced with the General GT which look very similar to the continentals (and General is owned or run by Continental as well).

Interestingly, on the General Tire website they say about the GT : 'Newly developed for high-powered SUVs and offroad vehicles'
but then there is an indicator below that writing which classifies the recommended use of this tyre as 100% Road and 0% off-road.
Are they trying to say that it is a good tyre for offroad vehicles that are used on road 100% of the time? 12MY RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra / Black + contrast/ Grand Black

Having 4 x GG GT in 275 45 R20 110Y XL put on tomorrow at local indie tyre dealer.
The Continentals still have about 4mm left but don't think they do the car any favours especially in the 40 profile.

Hoping that ride comfort and handling will improve with the GT in 45 profile.

Will post some feedback once I get a chance to try them out properly............if it ever stops snowing here in Notts (coming down again this morning). 12MY RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra / Black + contrast/ Grand Black
