Dynamic or not?

I've pretty much made the decision to place an order for an HSE. Your advice and from others about residuals has helped greatly thanks.

Because my RRS will have to tow a pretty big boat on muddy surfaces a few times each year I reckoned the low transfer box was a good idea. My question is mainly to those who have driven the HSE with and without the dynamic response option. For day to day UK driving have you noticed Key differences and if so I'd be very grateful to know what you think. I realise this a bit of a newbie question but after a couple of test drives in either I'm having a job to sort it out.

For my budget it's quite a jump to go to HSE dynamic.

Thanks all.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I don't know if it is still an option but you could go for an HSE with the on road/ off road pack, that doesn't give you the Dynamic mode or the ediff IIRC so is a bit less expensive, however I think that if you enjoy the odd blast on twisty roads then going for an HSE Dynamic would make for a more enjoyable, less rolly drive as Dynamic does make a noticable difference to the handling and firmness of the ride and makes it a much more sporty car. If you only want 4WD for the muddy bits then the plain HSE with OnRoad/Offroad would be fine but IIRC you don't get the low box on HSE without that option. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I was in a similar quandary as there is a fair price difference between the HSE and HSE Dynamic.

I found that by the time I had spenc'd the HSE up it was not far off the price of the Dynamic.

In the end I bit the bullet and went for the Dynamic..

It's the dynamic mode that makes it the car it is . The first time I drove one in sport dynamic mode for a late night blast down to Cornwall was the day I decided to place my order.

What Fletcher said - it was a back lane blast in Dynamic + Sport that made me realise how these cars can handle, and convinced me to put my money down.

I also tend to use "dynamic" a lot - to me it seems to stop the "head tossing from side to side" motion. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Mine is an HSE - not driven a dynamic so not sure what I'm missing but mine handles pretty wellnfor what I use the car for Smile

For the sporty drive I have another sporty car so was not an issue for me..

I would not be without the Dynamic. It is truly, truly impressive. Also go for the TFT instrument panel. And go for the TDV8 if you can afford it. Shocked

Dynamic definitely adds the sharpness that the chassis and ali body deserves.

If you read all the write ups, 90%+ say the 3.0 SDV6 is the perfect engine for the car. The 4.4 makes a noticeable difference on the FFRRs but I personally don't find the same difference on the Sports.

The other big benefit of going for a Dynamic (if ordering new) is that you can get a sliding pan roof instead of just a fixed one. I expect this will make a quite difference on resale in the future when people look specifically for opening roofs.

Just bought Swmbo a my16 hse

School run doesn't justify the extra for dynamic.

Question : Why is dynamic not a default setting on the dearer models, am I correct you have to enable it when you require it on?

If it transforms the car to make it that good should it not be permanent?

Shocked

In the same way the sport setting on the gear box is not standard - to use Landrover terminology switch on dynamic for "Spirited" driving...
