If you pull and hold the hand brake while moving (I suggest you try it at a slow speed) you will find the car will do a very very controlled emergency stop for you. As you perform this you will hear the ABS braking system working, which gives of a similar sound to the HDC when it is being used. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

Leading on from this I often wonder how many people with ABS brakes press as hard as possible to stop quickly.
When in fact you need to release some pressure on the braking system to have a more effective and cotrolled stop. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

So it's braking at all four wheels when it does this? Doesn't just jam on the handbrake, I hope? Shocked

At least it's not like the old RR's where the handbrake was straight off the back of the Transfer Box, no WAY you could ever yank that in an emergency.

The traditionalists of the marque all said that LR products were going too 'mainstream', what with the arrival of the Freelander being more car like, the P38 RR having more car like tendencies and electronic gizmos, and now, the L322 not even having a ladder chassis ! Ho Ho Ho what fun the EPB is on ice!

Quiet back road, plenty of ice on one side and I had a play with the EPB this afternoon................................ this is a magic piece of kit and soooo clever!
With the 2 nearside wheels firmly on the ice and doing about 40mph down hill I eased off the gas and yanked on the parking brake.................... pulled the car up in about 60ft straight as a die and without any locked wheels, even with 2 wheels on the ice. I don't think I'll try it with all 4 wheels on the ice though, I reckon the car would spin just like any other vehicle braking hard on a slippery surface! The EPB is a very effective piece of kit. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim,
I can't wait to see some proper snow or ice. I know just the place to try this out without any fear of damage due to loss of control.
Cant Wait. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.
