Official Land Rover Recalls in Australia

This is the link to the official Australian Government website where Land Rover (and others) are required to list all of the recalls they issue:

http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/952880

I have a red sticker on the inside of the drivers door opening which lists the recalls that have been undertaken on my car. I am assuming this process is followed on all cars.

Australia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

makes for interesting reading when you look at the other vehicle brands to see what type of recalls they've had and also how many/few.

Surprisingly it seems Jaguar/Land Rover aren't the worst in the luxury brands, but it's also interesting to see someone like Porsche who went for many many years without a single recall. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.

Seems the earlier recall for oil leaking into the brake master cylinder has now been extended...

http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/989275

I'm still under warranty and haven't been informed of this by the dealers! Rolling Eyes

ETA:

So I looked at the Toyota recalls and as an example:

http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/957231

I notice on this recall that Toyota say that they will write to affected owners. Yet on the LR recall above LR expects the owners to contact the dealers... So just how are owners expected to know about these recalls if they don't know about this 'esoteric' government site!!?? Rolling Eyes

Australia 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Hi 2nd Rower,
Sounds like those Melbourne service people are letting you down! Alto Landrover in Sydney replaced my booster and performed the modification without me even asking. Later I was sent a letter by LRA as well about the recall.
cheers,

BMW isn't that mucn better - despite them having TSB's , they don't seem to act on them unless specifically requested. (although to be fair, my issue was just the dash randomly blanking out)

Just bought a 07MY TDV6 - put the Vin into the system - never had a warranty claim, never been serviced by a dealer, and as a result has a few recalls outstanding. Getting them done next week - should I be asking for software updates or is this automatic each time the car is seen by a dealer?

Digging up an old thread but in relation to the new "recall"/ inspection in the UK regarding the 'swan neck' towing hitch.
I have one of these on my RRS and tow a caravan and car trailer.
Does anyone know whats happening about this issue in Australia Question
It appears that it could be dangerous Shocked

As far as I am aware the swan necks are not legal in Australia - I assume you got it from other than LRA suppliers. The Aussie hitch is the two piece arrangement with a hymen reece style hitch.

Also as I understand it, the swan neck only has a ball weight of 150kg so I would not be towing loaded car trailers with it. 07MY RRS TDV6

Garry,
Maybe I misunderstood the defination of a 'Swan Neck". I thought they were on about the flimsy detachable with a key lock that you take off to get to your spare. Confused Thats what I have with a 'Hayman Reece' heavy duty type fitting.
But the way it hangs down etc certainly looks flimsy compared with others I have had on other tow vehicles.

I agree that it could be just a definition thing - this is what I thought was the subject of the recall but not so sure.

Our tow bars plug in the same way so not sure why we do not have the recall - afterall our bars are higher rated.

You should have something like this
