Twin Roof antennae for 2016.5MY?

The facelifted 2016MY Evoques have been launched with a new twin antennae ( side by side twin fins) on the roof of models fitted with a panoramic roof. The roof antenna isn't particularly attractive but according to LR is necessary for the new version of InControl Protect and Incontrol WiFi to work. It has caused some owners to consider cancelling their orders because it is so unattractive in their eyes. Having seen cars with it fitted I have to agree but then I wouldn't cancel an order because of it either as you can only see the two antennae from right ahead or from right behind. Have any owners of 2016MY RRS's received a car with a twin fin roof antena yet? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

When I was collecting my RRS they had an Evoque in the showroom with twin fin aerials on the roof. I felt left out as mine only had one Very Happy

I noticed them straight away but the salesman didn't know why it had two!

A mate is getting his new Evoque next week hopefully so I will get a look at that. His has been built for ages but held at the factory for reasons unknown? MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

Reason for the delivery delay with Evoque is to do with an issue with the new Ingenium engines - LR has just released a whole lot that dealers couldn't put out in September so your mate's one should be available very soon. The twin antenae are only fitted to cars with a panoramic roof and/or Incontrol Wifi, you get it with a pano roof, you get it with InControl Protect and you get it with InControl Wifi, no panoramic roof and no wifi then it's a single antena. They still have the "bump" on the rear spoiler too, I suspect that it might have sometime to do with there only being so many systems that a signle antenna can handle and the Wifi antena has to be both a recieving and transmitting aerial which could be causing break-up of GPS/Phone reception through a single antena. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

RRSman, I doubt even Halfords would sell something so tacky..................... might get them as a free monthly giveaway from MaxPower though. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Finally saw one on the way to work this morning. I think a single antenna would certainly look better.

I hadn't noticed before but I see that LR has changed the Evoque rear light clusters to the RRS design for 2016MY, the rear lights used to be a more of a flower petal design. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Today I saw a newer sport and made a point of looking at the antennae, the new one was a single fin, but the dorsal fin is longer than on my car. 5.0 Ltr Superchrged RRS2, Chile Red, Sideways out of junctions!

There are a lot of aerials in this car. Let's count (which will vary by market and options)...

GPS
AM/FM
DVB
DAB
BT
Remote Unlocking
Keyless Unlocking
TPMS
Satellite Radio

... And probably more besides. Mark

I went to look at my new RRS yesterday - A MY16.5 RRS with pan roof and Incontrol connect package. The car only had one antenna!? I couldn't compare the o/a size of the roof fin itself to others. However can anyone confirm with some certainty that the RRS with pan roof cones with one antenna rather than two (like the RRE) if Incontrol connect package is installed!?

Driving me mad thinking if the new car has the package installed, as the stealer isn't 100% when it comes to confidently advising! Will need to jump in and check system on day of delivery.... Question Rolling Eyes

I picked up my Sport yesterday which is a 2016.5my with pan roof and it has one fin on the roof. Just arrived: Range Rover Sport HSE Dynamic, black contrast panoramic roof, red brembos.

My 16MY has a single antenna with a longer dorsal fin. It has all the InControl packages included.

Ditto with my 15MY Range Rover - it's the same.
