VEHICLE BEING EXCHANGED

Hi
I have posted a few times in relation to a persistent fault, where the vehicle just kept cutting out when the outside temp rose and in relation to rejection of a Vehicle.
Well, after around 5 weeks with the dealer, and numerous parts being changed, the vehicle has now been exchanged.
Had given the dealer and LR themselves as much time as possible, but despite the data being recorded at the time the fault occurred and LR Tech saying it was defo the Engine Control Unit, the fault has not been cured.
LR Tech are to send a Technician to investigate on Monday, and I hope they find the issue, but a new Vehicle has been sourced for me, exact Spec as previous. and is on its way, hopefully I will get this next week.
Dealer has been exceptional and has accepted the need to change without questions. Not a place to name names in open Forum, but I would not hesitate in using this Dealer again, and will recommend to anyone for the future.
A good result, all though a little long in coming.

I'm getting pretty worried reading problems with RRS2 and Disco Sport to the point I'm considering canceling my order Shocked

I was hoping things were improving but it looks like increased sales and profits may be leading to poor build quality and faults Confused

I may buy something else now and wait for LR to get their act together and sort the new models then look again Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I think one has to put things into perspective. On car forums you only hear the bad news. I've had 2 L494 RRS cars and only returned to the dealer twice for a service and a software update. The major gripe which might deter me from another one is the spring loaded catch over the well where the tailgate slots in, which can trap dogs paws, but I have a bumper protector which has now helped. But I'm hoping next time the Disco 5 might be released.

Easy for you to say if it's not your 80k that's in car that's not right, seems a lot of interest in this thread for some reason....... None currently

Well, I was responding to baxc's comments that life is too short, so he went and purchased an X5 instead. I also have a BMW but if you look at the Bimmerforum then you wouldn't buy a Bimmer..and buy a Merc instead. And then if you look at the Merc forums you wouldn't buy a Merc. And so forth.
As I said you only hear bad news on car forums but then the subscribers to the forums are a very small percentage of the actual owners of each vehicle.

Maybe...but which forum and how many members in comparison to this forum. The main Merc site covering all models has 72k members, this forum circa 11k I think. But ML only...? Depends which site.
And anyway, Merc owners are less enthusiastic vis a vis RRS owners Laughing

Earlier this year I was looking to buy an F Type, there are relatively few real issues on their forum, however, go to the Evoque forums and you would never touch a LR product again.
