Remote Fobs not working - both keys start car fine

Hi - I have a 2005 range rover sport 4.2 with two keys - both keys start the car fine but the remotes are not working at all. So I have to lock / unlock the car from the inside by pressing the button on the dash. This is an intermittent problem - sometimes both remotes start working - then after a week or so stop working again.

I have tried the following but no joy.

both Keys programmed using the SDD tool
Vehicle reset performed using the SDD tool
New genuine RF Receiver replaced in headlining behind sunroof
When the key was in the ignition - the SDD tool displayed a message that there was no key detected in the ignition.
I've checked the remotes are giving out a signal when the unlock or lock button is pressed using a remote control tester - yes they are
batteries seemed to be charged in fob
Car battery is 1 year old
recent alternator and belts fitted - the remotes worked ok prior to this

any advice on fixes would be welcomed

It will be the green splice wire in the passenger side lower sill, a common fault.. do a search on the D3 forum its a well documented fault.

Cheers Flack - I'll have a look. After I lifted the rubber mat up on the passenger side front and rear - I found the carpets were soaked thru with water - so it looks like another problem too. I've got a feeling the sunroof is leaking and the drainage tubes are not channeling water out of the car correctly.

I have had this on a couple of Sports and Sc RR, it has been the rear tailgate seal that was the cause of the leak. check both pockets at the rear below the lights. if the drians are blocked up then they fill with water and when you brake it all goes rushing forward through to the front, so check this out as well.
If so you need a new seal.

I've poured some water into the front corners of the sunroof channels to test the water flow - and yes the water can be seen leaking into the car from under the glove box on the left by the bonnet release.
