GAP Diagnostic – 2015-06-19 announcement, IIDTool and Remaps

Hi Everyone

Following a few months of development and relative silence, we are proud to present the newest additions to the IIDTool’s capability list. The first one might not be a surprise to some since the information could be found and figured out on a few posts here and there…

Both the IIDTool BT and IIDTool Pro (and coming soon for non Bluetooth units) are now capable of delivering (flashing) products designed and sold by the good people of BAS Remaps (Bell Auto Services). This includes Engine tuning, EGR Patching, Speed limiter raising and more (depending on the vehicle). The IIDTool BT and Pro provide a safe and secure transport method for items purchased at BAS Remaps while reducing the overall cost (no additional hardware to purchase). The beta testing phase for this new function begins now. For more information, please visit BAS Remaps website at http://bellautoservices.co.uk/ or contact Pete Bell at techATbas2.co.uk

When a personalized file corresponding to your specific requirements is made available for your IIDTool BT by BAS Remaps, a custom IIDTool firmware will be visible in the updater software. The tool is updated the same way as with any firmware (beta, release, special…). For the Pro units, the new file is simply added to the tool by the updater without a firmware change. Once ready, a simple ECU re-flash is performed in your vehicle and you’re done!

This leads me to our next announcement. The big re-flash module which will allow the tools to reflash any ECU with automatic file selection is still under development. However, we have completed the infrastructure to provide any ECU updates upon request to any users. We will call it the fast lane service and beta testing begins now for the IIDTool BT and Pro (soon for non Bluetooth units). A nominal charge of 25 GBP per ECU will be requested for this service (free of charge for the Pro’s as part of the annual fee). In exchange, the customer will get the most up to date ECU file for his vehicle configuration within hours (excluding weekends). This of course excludes the already covered ECUs (suspension for example) which remain free of charge. Once the automatic file selection algorithm is completed, the big re-flash module will be enforced and the terms will be revised.

And… we have a few more surprises in store for the future!

Cheers! http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/

Bodsy

I would have thought that if anyone was going to crack the TDV6/SDV6 remap via the the OBD port, then Pete Bell would have been top of the list.

Also why does the SDV6 have 10 bhp more than the TDV6, after all it is the same engine Question

I wonder if the power/torque has to be limited on the 6 speed, as the gearbox has a lower torque limit than the 8 speed? Exclamation

I would have thought, if that were the case, it would be a greater differential, but could be related. The new box would have required new mapping so I guess they just got a bit more out of it at the time? Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
