Looking to buy 1st RRS, need help guys

Been so busy lately, opened up a restaurant and just havnt had any time for myself. Thought I’d treat myself to a new car 

Been researching on range rover sport for a few days and went down north London to check out the one below found on autotrader. It’s an very attractive one, but not so much with history.

8! Yes EIGHT previous owners and also a CAT D (Paint damage). Previous owner resprayed to white and it was a pretty crappy job.

Took her for a run, not much power. My Vectra 1.9 CDTi 150 pulls better than this. Went on the dual carriageway and put the foot down and I heard some whistling noise. This seems to happen whenever I accelerate harshly. It was mostly coming from the back of the car.

Did a bit of town driving , don’t know If my mate was messing about with the suspension on the center console area that caused it, but suddenly at a speed around 30 MPH error message came up on dashboard about suspension failure. Was unable to select ride height setting. Restarted car and suspension returned to normal?

Im still thinking whether to get the diesel or look for a petrol.

This is going to be a weekend type of car

I'm looking for a 2005-2007 diesel model with less than 80k miles.

What are the things to mostly look for when buying these cars?

I did a bit of reading today and it seems a lot of owners have issues with the air suspension? What's the best way to check if they're on the brink of going?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Btw my budget is around 10-12k

Sonny

I was in your boat a month ago, went for a TDV8.. the only diesel lump to have in my opinion. I found one with 63k full LR history and 3 owners for the top end of your budget and its brilliant i love it.

Id check to see if its had egr valves done (im having mine changed at the moment as they are both not working as should(£660 fitted) also that its had the 10 year service ie gearbox flush etc. Other than that cant really say as i havent had mine long.
