Installin 13-pin towing electrics from Bripart

Hi there,
tomorrow i'm about to install the 13-pin towing electrics on my 09 RRS. i noticed from the manual that there is a diverence between those and the one from landrover although the britpart ones also have all connectors fitted. but i think the divergence is for the 13-pin against the 7 pin one from LR anyone fitted one and can point me out or warn me for any difficulties? also in the manual they say i should disconnect the battery, could there be issues if i don't?
thx for the advice

I fitted a dual (7 & 13 pin) setup on mine (58-plate HST) (albeit from ebay).. didn't disconnect the battery. The hardest part for me was getting the wiring down behind the HST rear bumper... the rest was plain sailing.

Took me about an hour in low to ultimately zero light using my iPhone as a torch Smile (needed it first thing in the morning so had no option of fitting it when I did).

Cheers..

Ian

Quite a good kit, just fitted one with no problems and I did not disconnect the battery, took longer to remove the panels than fit the kit, getting the wiring tidy was the hard part. Tail lights were also a bit of a pull to remove.
Would have preferred a wright up to pictures though. 😀

Nice one, wish I had seen this before I started, stuck my fuses behind the side panel ( not handy ) will need to move them now 😑

As for the tail lights not being the easiest to pull out, I found that too, so used a smallish flat-blade screwdriver and a piece if tissue (to prevent scratching the paint) and "prised" them backwards from the small gap between the front of the unit and the rear 1/4 panel... doesn't take much to shift them this way and no damage done Smile

Cheers..

Thx for The info.
In The link to The pictures and text
It seems as if you only should remove The left light but according to the provided manual
You should remove both. Thats the point that confuses me.

I _think_ I removed both too mate.. IIRC, it was something to do with wiring up to the right-hand indicator.

I used the above link as a guide, but also the paper instructions that came (mainly for the plug wiring order though as I found them to be all but useless for anything else).

Cheers..
