But that is the point, there is no reason for the brakes to need to be tested, the health check was done in the morning, this was a first service so brake fluids etc wouldn't have been changed. 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

Heard back from the Director of Ops for the group.

He's a very nice guy who I spoke with when I purchased the car and his comments seem to be wholly appropriate.

Quote:
Good evening James
Thank you for your note and I am pleased to note your comments re Stuart and I will pass on those comments to him when I am down there this week
With regard to the driving I am upset to note your comments and I agree with your view that it seems your car has not be driven on a road test appropriately
I am sorry about this and have asked the Head of Business to look into this issue straight away
We will come back to you following our investigation
On behalf of all the ************ Team I apologise
I would also like to say thank you for letting me know about this issue as this will help with our internal training
Regards

Well done , you have asked a reasonable question and they have responded, just hope they don't fob you off with a free umbrella or pen .
Sounds like you should get a straight answer.

Well, I received the "bug letter" in response from the dealership, I won't bore you with the entire email but this part was the most pertinent. Note that he refers to the road test prior to the health check. This response was not from the director of ops

I received the video at 11ish and the drive was at 14:45ish - in addition he mentions Incontrol which I dont have...standard letter, standard response:

Quote:
As you can imagine, with today’s vehicle technology including “In Control”, we are aware of customer’s expectations, but it is important that we ensure vehicle safety as the possibility is such that we will not see a car until the next service is due, hence the safety check and video sent to you on this visit.

I also asked for the documentation relating to the first service, what they check etc which I have now received and is shown below. It does denote a road test as expected but as you can see, there is no reason for the car to have been driven hard and/or outside normal driving conditions.

Rolling with laughter

And some driving gloves, pipe and slippers.

Obviously you are upset by this, I would be too but if you're not carefull your going to end up having a gripper.
Just go out in it, hammer it. See if you can get the figures down below theirs, then that will erase the previous good thrashing from the both the cars memory and your own.
Thumbs Up

I can understand your concerns. I too am not much looking forward to a conversation with my dealer when I collect my SVR tomorrow. It was collected on Tuesday whilst they dropped off a loaner SDV6 RRSport for me. I noted from InControl that the 25 min return journey to the dealership was taken through the twisties rather than the more direct main roads. Notably the average mpg was not my normal 18-20mpg (even on a spirited drive) but 11mpg!!

The thing going for me is I've got a dash cam fitted so very much looking forward to reviewing the footage!! Shouldn't need much more evidence than that.... SOLD - 15 plate Estoril SVR

SOLD - 64 plate Aleutian Silver Supercharged

SOLD - 63 plate Corris SDV6 Autobiography

Rolling with laughter Bow down

Have you thought of becoming a comedian? Whistle

I think you've slightly missed my point, I enjoy driving MY car hard, its not a volvo OR a a Dacia and the reason I bought the SC is that I enjoy the speed.

I just dont think that the dealer has a god given right to drive my car in this manner.

Incidentally neither does the Director of OP's. Had a long phone call with him yesterday, and he is of the same view as me Smile

Morning
Following our call this morning I wanted again to apologise on behalf of all the ************* regarding how your Range Rover was driven on the test drive at our Dealership
I will be taking this up with ******** and the Service Manager **** when I am there on Tuesday
I simply do not understand why your car had to be driven in this manner on the test drive
Please accept my apologies for letting you down
We will take this as a learning exercise within the Team at Maidstone
I hope you continue to enjoy what is a great car
Best Regards

I'd also be interested to see that footage, any footage of an SVR is epic! 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

Were they using the test drive so a chap could deliver a fish?

At least they only drove it to and from the same place....taking into account of nett speeds, and drifting.
