Wheel Centre Caps

Before I start digging with a screw driver and ruining them, does anyboy know if the plastic wheel centres can be removed without jacking the car up and taking the wheels off? I have a set of Range Rover centre caps that look much nicer than the LR green ones fitted to my car. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

the idea is, the centre caps are only easy to remove when the wheel is of, as otherwise they are to easy to grab by others... Evil or Very Mad

i tried on several cars, but without scratches you cant remove them from outside, only if you design a special tool for it... Wink

I find that a small flat head screwdriver will remove them easily without any detrimental effects.
Just go carefully and lever them off.

I did exactly the same change! Now

use a plastic sucker like you get on kids toy arrows or for mounting stuff on windscreen; quick clean easy and no damage !!!

Chris, just checked and yes mine are silver too, I have the caps from the winter wheels I bought for my Evoque and will be putting them in in place of the plain jane silver ones. Thanks for all the tips - will start with the sucker, graduate to the flat head screw driver and then as a last restort take the wheels off, but that sound like a lot of work on a hot evening........... when I should be having a cooling beer. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Don't use a screwdriver, you will mark the wheel. Use a plastic pry-tool instead. Far better though to remove the wheel. Mark
