Very expensive - £170 but it was worth every penny as it is a FULL day out - start was 0745 and finished at 1630! I went as part of the Freelander Club who got a hefty discount. There are different levels of HOTL days but there is really only one that RR Sport owners should consider, especially if you are travelling from the other end of the country and that is the full on Gold Day, including lunch and afternoon tea.

The LRE near Aberdeen was run by David Gillanders, former Scottish Rally Champion. The current Scottish LREs are run by Graeme Clark who has a hsitory of competing in motorsport in a wide range of motors (including a Lada Niva in the Hillrallies a few years ago). Chief Instructor is Rick Wells, a regular competitor in the Scottish Hillrally with his Isuzu powered Defender.

Hopefully one day we'll have a day at LRE, ideally Solihull or Eastnor, but Dunkels should be a good venue as well. I must take Graeme up on his offer of a shot of the RRS diesel as our dealer cannot get enough supplies to put a demo on. He sells all he can get Renny Thomson
