Gearbox flush in Manchester?

Hi. New to the club Smile does anyone know of a place in or around Manchester that would do a gearbox megaflush on a 2.7D RRS?

Thanks for any replies.
Aldo

Hi Aldo, welcome to the forum.

I'm in Liverpool and also trying to find somewhere local(ish) that will do one of these as my Supercharged is about to hit 96,000 and must be way overdue for one.

There are a couple of people on here that can do a mobile flush but one is way up north and the other down south.

The nearest place I've found so far is Quattro Autocare in York which is probably a bit closer for you but is over 100 miles away from me... Crying or Very sad

Thanks Zaphod. Yeah that's the only company I seem to have found that's closest to Manchester. Will probably just have to make a day of it and travel to York. The juddering at 2500rpm is getting annoying. Are you experiencing any problems or just having the oil changed as a precaution?

More of a precaution in my case... there's the very occasional blip when taking off from stationary but otherwise gear changes are nice and smooth and change as and when they should. I just want it to stay that way! Wink

Aldo, yours sounds like it may be quite bad (?) so be aware that it may be too late (and a new torque converter will be needed if so). Sad What mileage are we talking? Question

Zaphod, please do get yours done very soon, particularly with a SC. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I'm in Manchester and would be up for a flush if we can find someone close by or someone can come to us.

Lost for Words - yeah I'm dreading the fact that my torque converter might need replacing. The mileage on the car is 140K. I'm pretty sure its never had a gearbox oil change. I'll get it done and see if it fixes the juddering. If not, the torque converter it is!

Nsp1 - if I haven't found a local place by the weekend then will have to take the drive to York to Quattro Autocare and have it done. If you find a place local please let me know. Likewise I will do the same.

Wonder why so few places are able to offer this service... real pain in the arse to have to travel so far, especially when you don't have much free time...

If you have persistent slip and at 140k, I fear you'll be out of luck. Sad Might get you some extra time to save up though. Thumbs Up

Because the machine costs £3.5k...

Hence the reason I travel all over the county, making it pay for itself Thumbs Up

I to was suprised as to how few dealers etc are able to carry out this work. I looked for a long time to find somwhere close by with no luck and i always seemed to be away when the "megaflush tours" were in progress.
Eventually bit the bullet and went to Quattro auto care in York even though it was a 180 mile round trip,,,, made a short break of it ,,,, cost me more in the outlet shopping centre !!.

watched the whole process getting done, the oil in mine was not too bad so the guy said, apparently had seen a lot worse but better off getting it done before it turns to treacle. got some Dr tranny squirted in as well and gearbox reset. 2010 RRS, TDV8

One of the chaps on here goes on tour. Geoff I think he is called. Flack will organise it if enough interest I reckon. I had mine done that way a while back. Get a 2005-2009 RRS (FAH500210) sat nav/dash mat here - the one that wasn't there when you bought the car.

Spiffing wheel centre caps available
