how do I remove the door mouldings for painting?

Hi guys

the spray man is doing my plastic door mouldings for £150 to continue the coding exercise but has asked me to ask you guys if anyone had removed the door mouldings? I am sure he is very capable of working it out himself but its always good to hear experience from others in case any snags were found.

also he suggested i buy some spare clips as he expects that a few may snap as the mouldings are removed, so is this a LR only supply?

Cheers as always TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx

From memory, on the rear doors, there is a little grub screw holding the trim in place on the return end of the door when opened unscrew this before attempting to remove trim, then you give the trim a good tug as the rest of the trim is held on with push in clips, its always best to get a few new ones as spares because they sometimes break, i'm guessing the front door trims are similar Thumbs Up

i think its a LR only thing for the clips, but they are only a few pence, Dan at Duckworths should be able to sort them

I believe there is a technique in taking them off, Siberianfox had a issue when her trims fell off/came loose as the retainers on the actual trim had been broke when the bodyshop removed them

Yellow and White colour clips part number DYC101420
It's the same clip for the tailgate trim as well.

Simple job, however just take your time
One screw in rear door,
Also one screw on the front wing part as well & this part is a slide on job. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

This should give you an idea. The yellow part of the clip SHOULD stay in the door and the white part in the door cladding

Also remember to refit the rubber weather seal on the botton of the trim. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Rimini Red

This is something I need to do to my RRS... the lower mouldings on the front doors are loose. Have tried giving them a thump and they click into position for a few days but then pop off again.

Looking at that picture... is the front door trim supposed to be fastened with 14 clips in total or 10... can't tell if the 2 holes at each end of the door are supposed to have a yellow clip in them or not? Just want to know so I can buy an appropriate number of replacements. Thanks Thumbs Up
