United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey
Car won't stay down.

Hi all,
Went to the car wash today and tried to lower the car so the guys could reach to clean the roof.
Pressed the button and it went down but straight away came back up. Then went higher.
The light on the button was flashing and on the dash it showed extended height (or whatever you call it).

Can anyone help please as I looked a right idiot.
Thanks

Blocked compressor drier, faulty height sensor, or poor calibration will all cause your issues Thumbs Up

This is really weird. I had to take mine to the scratchers the other day too, I was desperate and it was too cold and guess what, this happened to me however it works absolutely fine every other time so I think its just really trying to tell us something Smile

When my mobile valeters snow foaming it the suspension works fine Smile I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST.

It's still doing it and so its time to fix it.

So, What is the easiest thing to fix for a simpleton like me (if anything) or will it be a garage job?

If you have access to your own diagnostics, it's easy enough to diagnose yourself.
If not, then it's best left to someone else Thumbs Up

Sounds like a re-calibration job, happened to me a while back, car would not stay on normal height, always stayed on extended mode, had to get it re-calibrated.

You can drop a pm to disco_mikey or bodsy on here and ask them if there able to do so if your willing to travel upto them, or try a local indie whos got the right computer to re-calibrate it.

Flack is located in Preston so probably the closest chap that could diagnose this for you. Drop him a PM.

I've been told the problem is a rear height sensor.

I've seen them online for about £40 and I'm keen to fix things myself if I can.
Are they easy to fit? I noticed I might have to have the height re-calibrated though afterwards though.

Yes, easy to fit, just a couple of screws and a connector.

Yes, is likely to need calibrating. Thumbs Up
