Interesting to look at the comments to this article to show how cretinous the average Daily Mail reader is.

It's a very real possibility that I may not be able to get insurance for the car. Do I then not take delivery of it?

I'd be quite happy for LR to disable the keyless unlocking functionality.

We've already covered the issue of key cloning to death elsewhere. I'm afraid my idea of requiring a chip/pin challenge to the owner before a new key can be cloned has fallen on deaf ears at Land Rover. This dedicated group making security updates need the benefit of an objective peer-to-peer reviewer to pick up what they are consistently overlooking. Mark

Daily Fail can't tell the difference between a Sport and a FF either.

As in all the videos I've seen the crims just walk up and unlock remotely, surely they much have snooped the locking when the car was locked remotely by the fob?

And if you can't take delivery Mark, let me know. Razz

This is a very useful security measure used on vans, maybe they should make one for Rangies - http://www.van-locked.co.uk/Shop/Products/Security/PedalBox.html ?

That's a great idea........ Not.
When considering the time on the video is something like 22.50... All the stolen Range Rovers will have been stolen by then and in a container. Banging Head

Many years ago, back in the 90's when car crime was high. Cosworth era, West Yorkshire Police came up with an idea.... Idea Stick one of their stickers that they had supplied, something like Police Watch in bright Yellow in your back screen, and if your vehicle was spotted on the road after midnight, then they would pull you over for an explanation. Shocked I think they caught more drink drivers than stolen cars. Laughing

slightly off topic, you would not believe the difficulty I've had trying to ascertain from l/r what class Thatcham security is standard on a 2014 sport, as my ins company are insisting on a class 1. My supplying dealer couldn't tell me. Customer services at l/r after requesting my vin no. said it was a cat 3, which is a removable system like a Krooklook. It was only with the help of philmw I was directed to Thatcham's website & found the answer I needed. I think perhaps this emphasises l/r attitude to vehicle security.
