Haha, that's what happens when 2.7 tonnes hits a puddle, it called displacement!

'Aint no replacing displacement!'

I think they do well in large puddles, drive sensibly. Certainly adds a fun factor. There is a quiet road near to my work, if its raining heavily and I leave around 2am the road seems to become a ford. You can imagine the result Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Cairns Blue

Great fun until you discover your battery box isn't fitted properly and the gearbox ECU under the battery fills with water. Happened two days after my V8 had its first body off turbo replacement at 7 months old. The dealer had to absorb that bill Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

Scotland 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Bali Blue

Returning to the initial point for a moment it is a fact that the RRS projects water forward. I think this is down to the high ground clearance and the front wheels being so far forward. The wheels are not as well closed in by the arches. On 'standard' cars this is not the case and the forward thro of the water is suppressed by the wheel arches.
well that's what I think for what its worth.

That's why off-roaders fit rubber flaps on front as well as behind wheels. Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Absolutely.
The alternative is that the wheel arch blocks up with snow and/or mud.

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

I found that the original Continental tyres were rubbish on standing water, literally jerking the wheel out of your hand, and making your bum squeak! after changing to Goodyear Excellence, never had any issues. Used them ever since!

Cheers

Contis were always rubbish at everything including wear and snow. I changed mine to Pirrelli Scorpion and lasted twice as long, didn't eat sidewalls. Even worked reasonably well in snow.
Not up to speed on current tyres available, in 2007-2010 there were limited makes available that had correct speed/loading rating. The barge doesn't seem to suffer as much from standing water issues but truth be told, it doesn't and isn't able to be pushed as hard as Sport and also isn't driven on daily basis as Sport was. Current super sticky Toyos seem to shift everything including road Censored straight up the back window making rear wiper as important as fronts. Big Cry 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
