United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Sumatra Black

No I don't, but having chewed the ear off almost everyone at JLR about the ordering I'm trying to forget about build and delivery or else I'll get an ulcer.

Really bad form of your dealers. Did they give any reason? I'd be fuming. As I bet I will be the first time someone posts a 'spotted' or 'arrived' photograph before I have mine (and mine is going to SVO for some pampering which will delay me even further).

The salesman didn't bother to reply to my "any idea on dates" email but I will bend his ear. I think the person ahead of me may be the dealer principal... so they may still claim I'm the first customer car.

I gave up all idea of doing some customisation which is bound to delay things. We don't know how many cars they will be producing and if each dealer is only getting, say, 1 car each in 2015, it's going to be a long wait.

Trouble is, the S/C V8 is in short supply and is used all over the place both in LR products for markets which don't do diesel and in Jaguar trying to inject some life into the brand. So the number of engines available for the UK RRS market seems tiny, a handful a week. You could easily imagine LR not producing more than 100 SVRs for the UK market in 2015, if that.

I think I'm going to be using my Evoque for a while yet... Mark

I don't think any of us have a real order - I, for example, have not signed off the final specification. As I understand it, the dealers have submitted levels of interest to LR but there's no information on allocation or build and delivery dates and this for a car which is meant to enter production next month with the Christmas and New Year break in the way too. Our orders, such as they are, are being held in the murky depths of the holding pool.

I can't remember whether Job #1 is start of building the thing or it coming off the line but a memo I have says it's 12 January though of course the first cars are for the magazines and queue jumpers like my dealer principal. I daresay that if Pippa Middleton, Jeremy Clarkson or other B-List celebrity wanted one, they would qualify for early delivery too so by the time the sycophants and hangers-on are satisfied, we will be well into next year.

Component lead times being what they are, LR will already know (but are not saying) how many SVRs they will be building in 2015. I just hope that each of us here with an interest in one is included in that number!

Still, in Q1, we may not have a car but we will at least have some comparative reviews with the Cayenne to chew over... not that I would ever buy one of Bratislava/Leipzig's finest. Mark

Ah, I see. I understand the slots should be confirmed by the end of December (which is only 2 weeks before job #1 starts down the line), and then the dealers will be given allocations.

In what order and how these allocations are given is unkown to me. Will Stratsones Mayfair get their allocation(s) before LLoyd's in Carlilse, for example, regardless of when orders and deposits were placed with each dealer?

Not sure where that figure comes from - maybe true, maybe not ( http://roverstateofmind.com/450/)

The "There will only be 400 SVR vehicles produced in 2015" sentence was added to the JLR newsfeed (http://newsroom.jaguarlandrover.com/en-in/land-rover/news/2014/07/lr_range_rover_sport_svr_nurburgring_300714/?b=2827&m=1275&f=TgVG:rangeroversport&dd=true&ct=NewsArticles&rs=5&fr=1&allCounts=False&locus=2) Maybe someone was confused by the 400 Range Rover Limited Editions due in the US next year.

I don't think there will be many in the UK that's for sure. Are you No 1 with your dealer Sally?

I doubt the SVR will be available in all the markets LR supplies, but if the 400 number for total 2015 production is correct, that suggests only about 1 a week for the UK.

They may be restricting supply to prop up future residuals which will be otherwise be poor though hardly in the V12 Aston Martin league.

Truth is, we don't know anything concrete. Hopefully, the position will be clearer soon though my salesman will get a flea in his ear if he tells me they are sold out and suggests I should have a hybrid instead, an even longer promised and slower to appear variant. Don't think I'd even go back to a 5.0 SC which now looks to my eyes a bit plain-Jane in comparison to the SVR. Mark

Helpful call from my dealer who confirmed order books opened on 27 Nov with cars being allocated based on previously notified commitments to buy. An email from LR talked about 10 cars a week, not clear whether this is for the UK or the whole world. I expect that once the thing is reviewed and out there, demand will go ballistic.

So, fingers tightly crossed. Seems clear the response to the SVR has been more than expected with significant orders coming from those looking for an 5.0 SC. Mark

Body coloured full size Pano roof
Power-adjustable, heated, power fold exterior mirrors with auto dimming
C/F engine cover

Solar attenuating glass
Approved Service Pack (some debate here as the dealers think there will be two offered based on miles)

PMW-Edition (SVO) interior Very Happy
C/F interior finisher
C/F steering wheel bezel
Four-zone climate control (Configurator is wrong with this)
Park Assist - parallel parking / parking exit / Perpendicular Park / 360 PDC

Surround camera system
Wade sensing plus Blind Spot Monitoring with Closing Vehicle Sensing and Reverse Traffic Detection
Soft door close
Remote park heat
Front centre cooler

*ETA: And the dealership have been fantastic (sorry to them and JLR and SVO for all the hassle).
