2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black
DVD no disc error

Hi folks...

New to the site and new to the car too. Had my supercharged for a few months now and all problem's except one have been resolved.

I cannot for the life of me get a DVD to play (alpine t200dvb). Audio CDs work perfectly fine but the unit just skips past any DVDs in the changer.

I bought a DVD cleaner - which would not run. So got a a CD one thinking it would run ok. It did. I ran it a fair few times, probably 20 ish. After this I can randomly get the DVD cleaner to run but still no closer to getting a DVD to run.

The head unit displays grey shaded numbers wherever I put a DVD. It tries it's best to read it but just comes up "no disc"

I have been reading as much as possible but seems to be a fair few different fixes going around. Been reading about the changer just being knackered to just needing realigned?

Any help much appreciated, my wee one is going a bit crazy not getting to watch her films!!....

Thanks
C

The car has a 6 disc DVD changer in the boot with 2 rear screens in the headrests.

Also has the 6 CD changer in the dash too.

Thanks
Kenny

At that age, it probably needs taking apart and re-lubricating on the guides for the lens. Bodsys Brake Bible

I've installed plenty of systems and changers etc over the years in different cars, but never took a changer apart - easy enough to do?

Thanks

I now have the remote and have the TV working. Very Happy

I noticed a while back I have an AV cable coming out of the rear of the arm rest. This has been plugged into AV1 slot on the rear of the arm rest in the past, what is the cable for?

The white and red plugs have been broken off and the pins stuck in the AV port.
Censored

I assume the AV 1&2 is what I can use the remote to select while in TV mode? So is there another way to get a DVD playing other than in the changer?

Thanks
C
