New car built but...

My new car was marked as 'built' on Monday (Build date was 7/11/14) but it's not moved over for the dealer to 'call it over'.

Dealer says it may be because of increased post build quality checks - any ideas? Surely with the amount they build per day they want to ship them off site as soon as they can?

Anything to do with security issue or more likely a missing part they are awaiting in order to finish it off?

My last (new model HSE Dynamic) was built and confirmed for the dealer to call over at 10am on the build day.

On a side issue - if it were to now not be ready until say December would there be any real benefit in not registering the car until Jan (value wise)...? 2017 MY - Dynamic, same again!

2016 MY - Dynamic - same spec again all round, engine a noticeable improvement

2015 HSE Dynamic - same spec as the last plus Meridian, Full Size Spare & InControl Apps

HSE Dynamic 2014:
Ebony / Lunar, Heated Mirrors, Privacy Glass, Heated Steering Wheel, Red Callipers, Interior Mood Lighting, Ebony Headlining, Panoramic Roof, Electric Towbar, Centre Console Fridge.

Previously: 2011 RRS, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Audi S5 Cab, RRS, Audi S4 Cab.

Personally, I wouldn't register it in December - I'd wait til January (for resale value).

Personally, I wouldn't wait until January - I'd have it now (for enjoyment value).

(If you contemplate waiting one month, why not wait two? Or three and register it in March? Or six?).

I also have the same dilemma. Mine is due to arrive at my dealer the week before Christmas (subject to no quality control hold ups!) and I am undecided about taking it then or waiting until the new year. I plan to keep mine for at least 3 years so not sure if it will make any difference to the residual value by the time I sell it. I guess all Supercharged versions would have bombed by then Rolling Eyes

2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My new Supercharged finished being built on 13 Oct. I'm collecting it tomorrow (14 Nov) which was the first opportunity dealer said I could. It was held up at the factory for 2-3 weeks for some unknown reason - I'm guessing another parts shortage.

Can't wait for the morning though! SOLD - 15 plate Estoril SVR

SOLD - 64 plate Aleutian Silver Supercharged

SOLD - 63 plate Corris SDV6 Autobiography
