I can no longer adjust my steering wheel, I have tried it on both settings but it just wont move, it also doesn't move up when I take the key out of the ignition, any advice appreciated..

I'd check your fuses first, look in your workshop manual to see which fuse you need to check. Other than that, i really can't suggest anything else other than a trip to a specalist.

I have a 2012 RRS Steering rack column complete with electric height and reach adjustment. If you are interested. PM me.

Mine has just stopped (after 4 days of ownership on a 58 plate). It's going back to Saxtons to get resolved hopefully this week.. if I find out anything, I'll post it here.

On the phone, they said something about "syncing". I put the key in, jumped out, pushed the driver's seat all the way forward and it started working...... for about 10 mins, so there's obviously some kind of electrical issue (tried with both keys and neither works currently).

Cheers..

Ian

Hi Ian,

Did you get yours resolved, if so do you know what it was?

Vin

Hi mate..

Not as yet, it's finally going back early next week (not had an easy ride in trying to get things resolved as yet).

Out of curiosity, has anything else stopped working for you? I've lost:

  • Steering wheel adjustment
  • Key recognition options (steering wheel / seat not going into "easy access" positions when key removed)
  • Memory seat positions not working
  • Fridge not working
  • Sunroof stopped working
  • Seat forward / backward adjustment works, but seems to be in "steps" (I have to keep moving the button to continue) rather than a single fluid movement.
  • Powerfold mirrors fold, but glass not adjustable

Not being a RR specialist, I suspect the lot maybe somewhat connected as everything seemed to stop at the same time.

Sorry I can't offer anything else at present mate, but as soon as I find out something (assuming they give me an answer), I'll let you know.

Cheers..

Ian

PS: I'm only down the road from you in the Ruislip area.. maybe it's something in the air!

Hi,

everything else seems fine, I had the memory module replaced at LPR (you may have seen my previous posts) and im pretty sure its something to do with that as I cant find a fuse just for the steering wheel. I need to ideally find a good indie near us, any ideas? I am prepared to try out LPR again given James is back there but its just a bit a nightmare journey at the times I could go there.

Well mine should be going back tomorrow to get looked at, but not holding my breath (that's a separate issue I'll address on here once I do finally get things resolved) so currently still at a loss as to what any of it could be. I've checked the fuses and none seem to be blown, so I "fear" that it's something deeper into the system.

As for places to go, I don't know of any other than Park Royal (it was HR Owen last time I was there), but do plan to start trying to find somewhere more local, or at least, an easier journey to get to.

Cheers..

Ian

Hi mate..

Just got my RRS back today. Turns out it was apparently a dodgy electronic switch somewhere in the memory seat that was causing the problem with all of my electrical things (including the steering wheel adjustment). No idea what was involved work-wise or price-wise in getting this fixed as it was done back at the dealership FoC for me, but apparently that's what it was.. and it's all working again now for me.

Cheers..

Ian
