REMAP PLUNGE

After giving it a lot of consideration and reading a few posts on here I am going to get a remap done on MY10 3.0 TDV6.

I am in Stoke on Trent, so can anyone recommend a reputable company within the area to do it for me, and what I will be expecting to pay?

I understand the ECU will be required to be taken out but I'm ok with that.

Cheers

I am not a speed merchant by any stretch, but since having the car in July I have found that its not the best off the mark, and seems almost as if there is a bit of delay before it gets going.

From what I have read on here this is not uncommon, and I am hopeful the remap will improve this issue, add extra power throughout the range and the extra mpg albeit small will be a welcome bonus.

Furthermore Peachy, by my calculations I may get upto around and extra 50 miles taking me to around 450 to a full tank of diesel which is not bad.

Hi Npinks - As mentioned its a welcome bonus if I do get improvements on the mpg, but its not the main reason.

I have the same issue - even using Sport Mode its a little frustrating Big Cry I have considered the options & more likely than not will be going down the remap route before xmas.

@ Peachy
I believe, even in sport mode that the default is to pull away in 2nd (certainly I think that was the case for the 8spd ZF gearbox on MY12 and above)
I got into the habit when I had mine of clicking the left paddle into first and using that to pull away, then a hold (2 seconds I think) on the right paddle at change up popped it back into the auto mode. I think it would also change up once you neared the limiter regardless of auto or 'manual' mode too.

Worth a try peachy Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

been running the BAS remap on the TDV8. doesn't do anything for pulling off the mark but a whole bucket of power in the mid range. think overtaking without the worry of "not making it". for the TDV8, it also means you get that thundering sound of the exhaust much earlier in your acceleration. duno how that works but it does!

if you're quick, snap this up now http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic115791-15.html

£180 for the device
+ £240 for the map file and you got yourself a sick map and a good deal

the device has a second hand resale value of £200-£220.

recommend you speak to pete first to ensure the map will meet your requirement
i also spoke with alive tuning who offer an equally good and competitive product 07 TDV8 + BAS map

3.0 cannot be mapped through the OBD port, unless the ECU has already been opened up and modified

As posted, got my car in today for remap by Tim at A1 Tuning Services, and WOW!! unbelievable. I am so pleased I didn't leave it too long (bought car in July) as I would have been kicking myself.

Its turned an already great car into something really special. My first challenge when I picked it up was I pulled up at the lights and beside me was a Red..............Royal Mail post van. Laughing Oh well. However I floored it, and to say I was chuckling with joy is an understatement. The difference was immense and I feel already the £350 I paid out has given me loads of extra joy already in one day.

When I got home I got the missus to jump in and drive and yes more chuckling with joy.

A1 said they have given me in the region of an additional 45 BHP and 100N torque. Whatever the figures the difference is amazing and well worth it and I can only suggest if your thinking of it do it, you will not be disappointed. Thumbs Up
