Scotland 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

Just purchased my '09 TDV8 from a local garage. 79k on the clock with full dealership service history (apart from last service which was done by garage I purchased the car from). I intend on using my local Land Rover dealer for all future services though.

I currently have 6 months warranty supplied by the garage from Momentum? Anybody any experience with them? I will be looking to have a continuous warranty on the car for as long as I have it. Will check out WD for prices, looks like there's been a few positive cases for them from members on here.

England 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I have had a quote from WD for their Extracare policy for my MY 10 43k Sport, £665, excluding any roadside assistance.
I have also had a quote from my Land Rover dealer for the Extended Warranty including LR Assist, £1095.
My pocket says WD, my head and heart say LR, I have had nothing but praise from LR in my previous dealings, they collect the car from my works , the Assist guys are excellent.
My only thoughts are that WD covers wear and tear, although my LR dealer there should not be any quibbles on my vehicle.

Any thoughts? 3.0 HSE RRS Stornaway (current)
Evoque Prestige Lux (gone)
3.0 a Disco 4 (gone)

I think if mine was newer I'd go with the LR one- but for my 55 plate WD were by far the best option. They paid up today as well very quickly for the suspension arms and wheel bearing-even paid for the four wheel alignment.

+1 warranty direct. they took some time to approve the claim which was around ~£2000 worth including labour at main dealer. but in that time, they were not sitting twiddling thumbs, they kept requesting job cards, paperwork and other assisting information about the faults, condition of the car etc to make an informed decision (read:to try and get out of paying it as much as possible!) but in the end if your fault is genuine then they will honour the claim. paid out for the £120 diagnostic that the dealer charges too.

the one claim they did decline to cover was fair do. the report showed the suspension light had been initiated before the policy came into inception. 07 TDV8 + BAS map

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Tonga Green

Just been on the WD web site and they only seem to cover cars with under 120k miles. Can anyone recommend companies that offer the service above this milage? 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

Has anyone got experience with Warranty Direct where they have taken out a 1 year warranty and have a fairly expensive claim which they paid out on. When it comes to renewing the warranty do they then load the premium?

Scotland 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Arctic Frost

My warranty was £640 for 13 mths with £0 excess taking out in September
1st claim ongoing, just been told will settle bill in full minus 50% excess on parts due to mileage being over 100k, I had no prior knowledge of this clause but they said its in the "small print"
So be warned they will try anything to avoid paying full cost!!

Having just gone through the warranty purchase process with them, I found it pretty straightforward of how they limit their liability on parts, but I could imagine me forgetting this detail in the years to come if I stay with them.

For the record WD pay this percentage on the cost of parts based on age / mileage like this:

Up to 6 years or 60k miles - 100%
Up to 7 years or 70k miles - 80%
Up to 8 years or 80k miles - 70%
Up to 9 years or 90k miles - 60%
10 years or 100k miles - 50% L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

this was explained to me by them when I took the cover out it is also clearly stated in the hand book. You have to read the handbook completely with all warranty companies. For example you have to state the oil used during a service and if the mechanic doesn't do it you have to make sure they do, I'm pretty sure they would use this if your engine blows up if it hasn't been done. Another important thing to remember if you have had the engine upgraded, chipped etc this can void your warranty 2008 Factory HST- Sold
