Are 22inch alloys safe?

Hi all,

As the subject says, are they OK to use? I've read posts on here about cracking etc and that they put strain on other areas of the chassis/ suspension. I am thinking of buying some hawke saker alloys in 22 inch but

Large wheels no problem.

Mine are ok, ride's quite hard though, even at 40psi, but tbh I'm going for 20" see how they feel.

England

Had 22's for over 2 years - needed 1 welding 12 months ago - & gave up after trying to get them refurbed - I was told 1 had 3 cracks - 1 had 1 crack & the other 2 had split tyres on the inner wall. Tyres was 12 months old ( 3k is all that they had covered ).
Nearly purchased Hawke Chayton 22's but got a cracking deal on some original 20's - what a difference. I used to cringe when I hit a pot hole & the ride was so harsh now I feel like I'm driving a Range Rover. The look got a bit of getting used to but I've got the Britpart lowering module so its lowered by 20mm to give it ( in my opinion ) a sportier look.
I don't know if I'd ever go back to the bigger size but there's a definite difference in the all round driving experience.

If I go lower than 22mm It starts to feel as though its bouncing - I can't use access mode at that height either. If I try it hits the bumpstops & raises to full height.
Apart from that its great - I'm checking tyres regularly to make sure alls fine.

Overfinch have worked with range rover for. 40 years so would find it hard to believe that their 22 inch wheels crack?
Imitations or Chinese ones would
