Ipod problem connecting

I have searched though here bout not found any answers, If I have missed it then apologies………

I have just bought a RRS TDV8 2010 (which I am really enjoying) everything seems great apart from connecting my iPod to the cars factory connection ,I have a classic(gen 5) 160bg iPod (which works just perfectly in my other car) have even borrowed another iPod to check and still no joy, is there an easy fix (dealer ungrade?)

Many thanks

Mark

Aux input under the air vents (it might be under a flap) in the rear between the backs of the front seats not working?

My iPod worked fine on MY10 with LR lead but it was a 3rd gen 8Gb nano - could it be your iPod is too new and RRS needs a software update Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

i assume you are using the genuine landrover connector which plugs in under the lid on top of the fridge flap. i use this on mine and have no problem connecting a ipod classic or the newer itouch.
saying that you do have to pair or sync the unit to the car, when they connect successfully your music will appear on the dashboard touchscreen.

I dont have access at present but there is a section in the manual that explains how to do this..... i'm sure it involves using a code,, something like 2121 if my poor memory serves me right. But as i said you must use the landrover connector, it will not work using the USB connection. The LR connectors can be had on Ebay for 30 quid. 2010 RRS, TDV8

many thanks for the info, yes I am plugging in by the fridge, with a proper LR cord, it does occur to me that it may be a dodgy joint in the cable, so for the sake of £30,

My iPhone syncs perfectly 2121 with the bluetooth, so that part is okay also own

Greece 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HST Fuji White

I bought recently a 2009 TDV8 with an aux. input between the back seats like BKHK mention. I would try and connect a music source into it soon.I never had an Ipod. Can I connect my I phone 4s or my Ipad 2 and get music?Sorry if its sounds inncorrect but I'm new at this.I had pair my iphone allready to the cars phone system.

Gogsy and ORP73 had mention another aux input under the lid of the fridge flap, does it do the same job?
Also its been said that a genuine Land Rover connector must be used.Shouldn't that connector be an accesory you buy from apple?

I also have a 2010 TDV8 and an iphone 5S. I connected the phone using the genuine LR cable and a non genuine 30 pin to lightning adaptor (ebay) and it would only charge the phone. I then splashed out £25 on the apple adaptor and it works fine.

This is the item i bought for mine, javascript:; ( hope the link works ! ). i only use my i-touch for music, not my phone but i'm sure plenty of others have had success connecting i-phones for music.
I think i am correct in saying the I-pad will not work though... did try mine briefly with no luck... apparently they operate in a different way to Ipod's etc. 2010 RRS, TDV8

The one that worked came from Dixons at Aberdeen airport actually, £24.96 but I think this is the normal apple price. If you buy a cheapo from ebay you need to be aware that some of them are advertised as "charger adaptors." The one I bought for £1.09 would only charge. There might well be something for less than I paid but I was fed up by then.
