Green card

European green card for insurance, maximum permitted time 90 days; is there a way this can be extended ? anyone any ideas? the price seems to have taken a hike this time as well, £111.00 its usually £70.00 duno what's going on with that as I dropped the car from a rrs v8 to a smaller rrs v6 . a womans rule of thumb:if it has tyres or testicles your going to have trouble with it

I thought green cards were thing of the past but it seems not. My insurance also covers me to drive in Europe automatically. With the EU boarders laws, you can get insurance abroad to cover you in uk, can't see why reverse is not the case. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Both SAGA and NFU give unlimited trips up to 6 months in Europe as standard. Which what I use. Much cheaper than Green card.

Thanks guys I will ask the insurance bods next time, this is news to me,

but wouldn't you think after I'd been on the phone to them specifically enquiring about European cover or how to extend the green card cover from the maximum 90 days, they would have suggested this as a option for the future,

I must admit I don't remember seeing that option in the 'on line' request for insurance forms, suppose I could always Google 'European car insurance cover'.

but then; I get all the answers I need from this forum

Hi - long term cover (up to 6 month) was paramount for me and I searched everywhere and as far as I know only SAGA and NFU do that length of cover for under £1,000. I pay £365 with NFU for a 2011 RRS, protected no claims bonus and I think it might even cover breakdown cover inc trailer.
