Morrisons Land Rover - Brilliant Service in bodyshop!

Took my slightly bashed RRS to them at 10am for an estimate of repairs to damage inflicted by a Waste Disposal wagon owned by a very large company in Scotland last night (nearside frontwing rubbed by trailer wheel, mirror broken, side repeater smashed, scratches on passenger door, front bumper and wheelarch) when I was overtaking on the Rest and Be Thankful (the Scots on here will know where I am talking about) on the Inverary side at the long sweeping right hand bend just as you climb up to the Rest.............. the one you can see for miles around and is a great overtaking place!
Estimate took 45 minutes to work out (while I waited) and as I am not claiming on insurance gave them the go ahead, when do they want the car? Just leave it with us and we will repair it in the next couple of weeks (I'm off overseas tomorrow with my job for a long spell so all it will need is my parents to contact them in 3 weeks time to see if it is ready and pay bill/collect car). Even better when I asked for a full inside and outside valet to "showroom" standard, no problem - minimal charge! Then contact truck company and tell them I'm not claiming on insurance, police informed insurance informed etc and even better they say send us the bill and we will make a contribution to the repair cost Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing That cloud had a partly silver lining!
Here's the damage:

Hope the valetting guys don't think that is what the feint brown stains on the drivers seat back are Laughing Laughing Laughing I got into it not knowing I had mud on my waterproof jacket one day and it is a bar***rd to get out of the leather, even when dry there is still a mud stain! Hopefully they will be able to remove it with leather cleaner.
And in the pic you can also see that my car goes offroad every night as the drive isn't wide enough for the car and the posty to walk up without him rubbing along the wings! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

I can always tell when we have a relief or new posty as my mail is delivered to my house instead of my folks who live down the road at the other end of the village - the usually posty knows I go away a lot and always delivers my mail to them, without me even asking! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Ah, life across the border! Somehow I can't see the neanderthal that delivers our mail being quite so sympathetic to his customers!

Yes I left it with them as my folks were also in Stirling shopping so they came and collected me from the dealer. Dealer will work on the car when they have a slot - their bodyshop is very busy at present for some reason (they are also Fiat, Daihatsu, Seat and sell a few remaining MG rover cars) so nobody has to book it in as it is already there. Suits me and my folks and dealer will deliver it back to my parents house when they (my folks) get back from their hols - mean the car is also in a secure compound while it's in the dealers care and not on my drive! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

glad its all being sorted swiftly for you Tim

just made me remember when I took the Treg in for some body repairs, I thought it was going to be an insurance quote job, until they said it would be around £450 - THEN I couldn't believe it when the dealer said if I dont go through the insurance it will be £285 - nice to know VW dealers are pushing up our premiums isn't it !!!! (BTW, I didn't go through the insurance)

There was a happy ending to this, the car was returned looking like it had just come out of the showroom. The owners of the waste truck had said to send them the bill when it came in and they have made a substantial contirbution toward the cost of the repair which came to £900. I also authorised the dealer body shop to fixe some other small scratches and also to repair some scuffing on the front nearside alloy which they thought had been caused by the incident but I know were caused by a gorse bush when offroading Embarassed Embarassed A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.
