2014 RRS has dynamic response? If yes, same problem like with previous? Is there an option not to take it?

I have a knock which fits this description but two different specialists have told me that is is just the anti roll bar bushes... i say just despite hearing they both need 2 to 4 hours to fit new ones Shocked ...perhaps I'm a bit new to the RRS to be able to tell the difference myself

Mine has CLONKED since 3000 miles. Cannot be bothered to even ask LR to look at it. Now done 50k and still CLONKS Rolling with laughter

Are you telling me the ALL NEW RRS 2014 @ £87.000 (with toys I would like) will still CLONK ?

(repost) one mechanic that inspected my car and recommended changing front ARB bushes, also said they would remove two components that contribute to the noise and actually serve no purpose. in fact Land Rover recommend these are removed. does anyone know what he was referring to. he did tell me but it escapes me now (there were so many problems we discussed with the car, ive forgotten what this was) 07 TDV8 + BAS map

So last year I had a TDV8 (09) and then a supercharger (59)... both knocked and rattled so I gave up and flogged them both.... Have just bought a 12 plate supercharger and it's brilliant. Totally silent, drives in a straight line. Land Rover made a few changes over the years, the most significant being the modified ARB compressor from a different supplier. It can be retro-fitted, but it's the most expensive option.

Lost count of how many pot-holes and drains I've driven over - totally silent. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Ben

Guys, I may have posted this in the maintenance section also but can I pick your brains?

I purchased my RRS HSE which is a 2007 from a main dealer in Bristol.
I've been reading this most excellent forum and came across the clunking suspension debate. I have downloaded the TSB which someone posted a link to.

When I took my RRS back to them initially to correct an air suspension fault after 4 weeks, I mentioned to the salesman that it felt a bit "clunky" underneath which I didn't expect from a RRS.
He said...."oh that's normal" and quickly changed the subject.

I did leave however with a full 12 months warranty. The issues on this TSB to resolve the clunking front suspension, should this be covered in my warranty?........is it a kind of recall that is free?
I want to know if I can go back before the warranty runs out?

They should at least know if the car has received the work on this TSB shouldn't they.

Cheers,

Gaz.

I guess it would be a Google job for LR parts suppliers.

I did watch an old Wheeler Dealers where Edd replaced these on an old P38.
The original ones were rubber and for a little more, he replaced them with like a neoprene version which was much more durable.
Quite easy but I think you need a ramp really.

So before I go and buy one of these - is it hit and miss that you get a crappy one? Is there something you can ask the owner for before making the deal - or is it that they just go and you are stuck with it.

Test drive it over a broken surface. You'll know if the bushes need doing - it's a very obvious noise.

They do all seem to suffer eventually it's just a matter of when, not if. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Cool - testing on the weekend with one. Looks lovely but I hear dealers do them up to look better to bling you to sale!

Is this knocking is so bad that the car can't be used or it is just annoying clonk every time you turm steering wheel? Does the knock stops when at motorway speed?

The items to remove are the front body to chassis dampers mounted at the back of the front wheel arches and hidden by the wheel arch liners. They do not actually contribute to the noise but they do act as one of two noise transmission paths to the cabin. (The other path is via the No. 2 body mounts)

PS Only just realised that the original post is over a year old - still the info might still help someone.
