How Long Does It Take.

How long does it take to make a car at Land Rover,

From starting out on the production line to being driven out of the factory.
How many cars a day do they make. Freelander, Defender, Range Rover, Discovery, Range Rover Sport. How many of each.

Does anybody know the answers to the above.

Would be nice to visit the factory for a look. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

Can't find anything immediately obvious on the web for recent years, only stuff up to about 1999. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Longer than you think!
You can go on a factory visit anytime by contacting
hotl@landrover.com
I have scanned in the flier and posted it here

You would be amazed how much hand finishing goes into a Range Rover!
And what a robot CANNOT do........................
Tour starts with a flat sheet of steel for the press and goes through every stage of production to the completed car rolling off the line. The only palce you do not get to see is the paint shop, becuase there is nothing to see in there, it is dark! But what they did tell us was that one robot can produce cars in different colours just by reading the bar codes on the body shells.... and not have to stop to do the next car in a different colour, just takes seconds to clean the heads automaticlly and then spray the next colour!
Anyway the answer is................................................. I cannot remember,
I did the HOTL last November - the gold day out. The most memorable thing................. driving an £85000 RR G4 V8 through the Jungle track ( a vast lake!) with water up to the bonnet.................... and then doing the same thing in a Freelander V6!

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Firenze Red

Don't know if you saw the news when greenpeace activists stormed into the factory, but word was that they stopped production lines which churn out 9 vehicles per hour, I would think that is per line so how many lines do they have, one for each model ??
