Suspension Shocks replacement

hi I need some help, my car has been experiencing a very bumpy ride which I suspected were the shockers. the dealers confirmed that this was the case, and that the shockers and airbags would need replacing which is costly.

is this correct or can just shocks be purchased as with non air suspension vehicles?

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try this.....

http://finder.koni.com/pdf/2100-4069-manual.pdf

Pretty straightforward Thumbs Up

you can get LR shocks and fitting kit or the whole airbag including shocks.

If you get the Koni FSD shocks, then you will also need to buy the LR seal fitting kit as well as they're not supplied with them. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks for that, where would you recommend buying the shocks?

either LR shocks, OR the Koni FSD shocks have reported to be excellent for the D3 and can be found on ebay from a seller in Leeds I think for about £680
ebay item number eBay Item No. 230380758900 from larkspeed motorport £675

You will need the seal kit from LR as well when you do it. Thumbs Up

LR shocks are about £600 last time I checked (but they're always changing) Bodsys Brake Bible

Cheers.

How difficult are they to replace? My old mans lending a hand, he's an engineer with experience on older cars such as mgs.

using the koni instructions, its pretty simply. although some soapy water might help in both getting it apart and putting the new one in.

Just be careful when releasing the air!!!
Id suggest the whole car on axel stands TBH, as it'll sit right down once youve dropped the air out. Bodsys Brake Bible
