Just Like to Recognise Great Service

Hello all

My baby has just been in for her annual service (The Big One) at Guy Salmons in Stockport. I have to say they madeit a very pleasant way of spending £854. Quid. Very Happy Big Cry they discounted the service because I've signed up for a three year service agreement that simply means I'll return there for service. I get a number of benefits for doing this but most are covered by my Warranty anyway.

So the service was done and I was kind of panicking as to what they were going to find, but all they found were the advisories from the previous two MOTs and that was the front anti roll bar bushes were a little worn, and the wheel arch trims were missing from the front arches. You have no idea how relieved I was to hear that my car didn't need me to spend thousands on it. I really expected them to tell me it needed all sorts doing. They told me that the car was in first class condition and that I'd bought a bargain of a car. Nice to hear I'd bought well. They replaced the roll bar bushes

I'd asked them to fit mud flaps, which they did, but because they had to order the trim the car wasn't going to be ready that day meaning I had to keep the courtesy car (A new Freelander 2) overnight. I have to say I was far from impressed by the Freelander. Anyway early next day thy rang to say my car was ready, looked beautiful, and they were looking at the bill to see if they could they could discount it at all. Final bill came in at £854 quid.

I was mightily impressed with Guy Salmon's attention to detail. The booking in procedure was good and the courtesy car was ready and fuelled up. They looked around my car to check for existing damage, ran through the controls on the Freelander before I took it away. They kept in touch throughout the service letting me know what was needed, how much, and when they could do it. Collection was good. The receptionist was dealing with a customer so I had to wait a while. I was given tea until the lady was free to deal with me.

All the paperwork was ready, the courtesy car was checked for damage and fuel level, I paid the bill and was taken to my car by the reception lady. It had been valeted, polished and the new mud flaps look fantastic. The reception lady was well impressed with my car. They had left me some sweets as a little token gift. The car was sparkling clean and drove like a new one. I'd recommend this main dealer without any question

Sounds like a good experience Thumbs Up

Just goes to show that the 'pain' of paying main dealer pricing is easily softened by customer satisfaction. 2016 VW Golf GTD DSG

I also rate Guy Salmon - their customer service and care is getting better and its been good for a while...i hope they keep the trend.

Their prices can also be competitive - showing main dealers can be great. Mike

Thats true. I got a quote for the service from a local specialist non main dealer, and the price difference was less than twenty quid.

Lets hope they (and parent Synter) build on this good service and become even better...rather than exploiting it and going backwards. Mike

I got a call from their marketing department a couple of days post service to ask one main question, "would I recommend Nina (The ace receptionist) and Guy Salmons service"? Yes of course I would, they then asked the follow up question which was from 1 to 10 where 10 is good, how likely would I be to recommend them? I said ten. They went away happy in the knowledge that I was a satisfied customer.

I had set aside £1500 quid for this visit and was on tenterhooks that this might not be enough. I was imagining gearbox and engine rebuilds, transfer box replacements and problems with the air suspension. Now I know the dealer gave me a warranty so if there had been any serious issues after he had MOTd the car and done a thorough inspection on it with a minor service stamp in the book, he would either have sorted it out, or I'd have worked the car up his ring piece.

Happily everything JDs had said about the car was absolutely true. I'm pleased that this is a dealer we can trust to sell honest cars. He told me Karl you'll love this car, I only sell good cars and this is a great car. Guy Salmon told me Karl you bought a real bargain when you bought this there is nothing wrong with it at all. So looks like someone is going to end up with a great car in a few short weeks when my cancers overwhelm my systems and kill me. The Oncologist gave me between two and eight weeks last week so I'm only going to have a very short time to enjoy it. At least I can be sore when my wife try's to sell it she's selling an absolute belter. If anyone here is interested let me know. We buy any car offered me £14500 without the side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, and remap, and of course the B service and anti-roll bar bushes. So although selling this beautiful car is the last thing on my mind at the minute, I am a practical man and I know it needs to go sometime soon.

Sorry this post ended up as an advert LOL, as I said selling Roxie (the family named her) Mr. Green makes me feel sick to my stomach. Anyhoo I was mightily impressed with the main dealer's service and customer care, and I'm happy to recommend them to anyone. While I was there I saw the getting a new RR ready for collection by the new owner. The car was white with Overfinch bumpers and wheels it wasn't a full Overfinch but it looked fantastic. God it was gorgeous.
